Another glorious Sunday
Well, in case you didn't know it's Christmas today. And I am just starting to realize just how much Christmas is commercialized, I sort of figured this out while I was bah-humbugging to myself over the past couple of days.
By birth and early practice I am Bhuddist and over the years I guess I have become either Aetheist or Agnostic. Well, every year but this year I have bought gifts for people why? To celebrate a birth in a religion that I don't even believe in. I don't celebrate anything from any other faiths, so why is Christmas so different? Some would say the government, but I am not one of those "conspiracy theory" nutcakes........I am a nutcake of a different flavor.
So, today I spent the day like I would like to spend the majority of my days off: In bed, playing PS2, watching movies, eating bad food, napping....basically nothing. I cleaned a little and did some laundry too, and of course sent out the obligatory "Happy Holidays!!" text message, so I guess I wasn't as lazy as I could have been.
For those of you whose faith you are celebrating, I salute you. Over the years you have unintentionally (or intentionally) converted more people than they know to your faith and God. Sure they don't go to church and praise the lord weekly, but who really does? I know a TON of people that say they are Christian or Catholic, yet they smoke, drink, cuss, fornicate unlawfully and yet cannot name the last time they set foot in church.
Summary: I am happy to have the day off, thank you Christian people, thank you very much.
