This past week
Very interesting.
Friday night: Go to local nudie bar with Darrin and I get a phone call, it's my friend D. Well D is a Rireman that does screenrooms on the side and is doing incredibly well for himself. What I didn't realize is that D is also a pimp and he called me to offer me a girl for the night. Hmmm, I know I am not Don fucking Juan but come on, he tells me that he can get both Darrin and I in there for $200 each. I think not, but thanks for playing.
Saturday: Shane and I leave for Orlando at 8am to go and watch the IPT tournament (www.internationlpooltour.com) and about an hour into the drive I get pulled over. Well I was doing about 110 in the fast lane pulling up to an SUV that was going slower and so I slowed down, when I did I realized that there was a cop pointing a nice black laser gun in our direction. So he pulls out and I start slowing down in the slow lane waiting for him to catch up, sure enough he gets on my ass and lights it up. He gets me for doing 86 in a 70 (thank goodness) and says he has bad news, my license is currently suspended. I got a ticket a few months back but paid it and went to traffic school, but didn't turn the paperwork into the right place AFTER I showed them proof of school and got it signed off. So then he goes to write the ticket and comes back and says that he has MORE bad news. Great!! It seems that with all the funny things running through my head on my birthday I forgot to renew the registration for my cars. Ooops. So now I have about $450 in tickets, Shane has to drive the rest of the way and we are barely an hour into our weekend trip.
So after about 3.5 hours (there was a wreck) we get to Orlando and the IPT tournament. The IPT was founded by Kevin Trudeau who is the inventor and author of the book Natural Cures. Anyways, this guy is worth about $2 Billion and what is his next project? You guessed it, pool, 8-ball to be exact. The TV coverage and filming of this tournament was unbelievable. Every match is going to be recorded and sold, which is how he is going to recoup the approximate $80 Million in prize funds he is putting up over the next 3 years. He says that if the 150 tour members don't make $100k/ year in prize money and endorsements he will cut them a personal check for the difference. No I am not a member but will be competing in the qualifiers to become one as soon as they are announced. The tournament was awesome, Shane and I went to Howl at the Moon for a bit and it was packed. I got bored and headed back to the room, Marissa and them call up about 10 minutes later saying that they just got Howl at the Moon and want me to come back out. I was in a pretty shitty mood and should have went back out but didn't. It was a good opportunity to hang out with people I normally don't, like Jennifer Barretta (she was in Playboy recently), Jeremy Jones and Deno Andrews (tournament director for the ITP). Well, I missed out.
Sunday: The finals were awesome and I sat right in front of Kevin Trudeau's girlfriend.........Jesus that girl is physically perfect. Sigel couldn't get started and lost 0-8 the first set, he played better the second set though. Efren missed 3 balls in a row which made me think that he was throwing that set so that there would be a third, which would make for good TV, but he won the second set 8-4 or 8-6. Drove home listening to the player's meeting and got a little insight into what Kevin is doing and proposing, everything sounds and looks really good. Now I just need to get IN!!
