[Adventures in Creating] A Resources Post

I shared these on bps and thought that maybe someone else might benefit...
This guy has lots of cool brushes that you can use to get various effects: [x]
If you're into photoshop actions night-fate on DA has bunches of beautiful ones to choose from! [x]
I also have various tuts saved as faves on DA that should help with shading fabrics, etc. : http://pikkonoloidlee.deviantart.com/favourites/ (check them out on the left side)

Also, a long long long time ago (around 2 years now) I was asked how I created an effect in one of my contest pictures. I think it's pretty much common knowledge at this point but here's a little copy/pasta
Thought I'd share a quick tip about the omni light:

...you know how you would render a lensflare? well under that should be the option to render a lighting effect. and then you can play around with what light type you like-I chose omni. and I would suggest putting it on a duplicate layer, that way you can lower the opacity to make it softer

No problem I think the first few times I tried it it wasn't the most natural look, but after experimenting for a bit I found something I liked. the other lights work well too, but I think that the omni is the best personally. and it's also the easiest to work with. the other two are a bit harder to get the light right where you want them, but with the omni you just put the center where the light source is and make the circle larger or smaller to increase or decrease the intensity of the lightIt creates a more realistic lighting effect like what I've done here:

I also created this more in depth tutorial even longer ago about my general picture editing.
