i bought the franz ferdinand CD last week, and it is excellent (although my sister says otherwise...blasphemy). i was really sad when i read that they played at the 9:30 club, if i had known i would have tried to get tickets. anyway, i need more music!! any recommendations? i'm looking for the early novembers or whatever they are called. i'm thinking about getting the new modest mouse one but i've only heard one song by them. is there a new dashboard confessional cd out? and i heard rachel yamagata was all right, and bond has a new CD out. since bond is the closest thing to techno/dance i'll probably have to dance to it alone in my room while everyone else is out clubbing this summer :(. and bath and body works doesn't hire people under 18!!
i was thinking about what my favorite movies are and i really haven't seen that many but here is a brief compilation of rankings:
WORST MOVIES EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND
-texas chainsaw massacres
-how to deal-or any other movie starring mandy moore, for the record
-any olsen twins movie (except the one where they go to rome)
-poltergiest-this scarred me for life when my sister coerced me to watch it with her when i was 4 or 5
-ju-on (ahhh toshio!!)
-fast and the furious
UNGOOD
-matrix 3 reloaded
-josie and the pussycats
-charlie's angels
-shrek 2
-harry potter 1
-zoolander
-spiderman, batman, etc.
ALL RIGHT
-harry potter 2
-rush hour
-x-men
-she's all that
-o brother where art thou?
-jackie chan's first strike
-mean girls
-sabrina (the original)
-parent trap (the remake when we were in middle school)
GOOD
-crouching tiger
-dr. strangelove
-you've got mail (ok so i really shouldn't be putting this in the same category as dr. strangelove but i liked this movie)
-truman show
-shrek
-spirited away (that movie was whack but still good)
EXCELLENT
-LOVE ACTUALLY
-pirates of the caribbean
-amelie
-forrest gump
BEST
-harry potter 3
-LOTR 1 (which i saw for the very first time last night...two more to go...which isn't bad at all, considering there's viggo mortenson...and orlando bloom...and dominique moynahan)
although these aren't all the movies i have seen, this is still a pathetic reflection of myself and the types movies that i tend to see. i guess i'll just have to watch more movies this summer.
