Moved!

I'm finally back after not having online access for over a week.  That's a long time in internet years.  The good news is that we got moved!  Warner was able to have 4 other guys take the day off work to help and they moved nearly everything in one day.  We gave up on cleaning and hired a lady.  We checked on it tonight as we have to check out of housing at 9 am tomorrow morning and are generally untrusting of what most other human beings consider a good job, but she seems to have done a good job.

I'm going to be posting some pictures of our new house in a few days, but suffice to say, I'm loving the change.  After the first night we spent here, I had a mild panic attack and hoped we didn't just make a huge mistake.  now that we've been here a week, I have fallen in love with the place.  The view is amazing.  This morning Warner got up early and drank some coffee on the front porch that overlooks the bay.  It's peaceful and quiet for the most part.  There is a waterfall fountain in the back yard and nice mature landscaping in the front and back yards.  It's going to take a lot of care once summer comes, but what a nice change from 12 potted plants as I have not had a yard...ever.  OK.

The sad news is that my husband's grandma passed away two weeks ago, so we had a funeral to attend last weekend.  It was his mom's mother.  She had been in a nursing home for years and was missing a leg, which she reminded me of every time we went to visit.  She went pretty quickly once she was transferred to the hospital, but we did not find out she was even there until the day she passed away.  We got a call from his mom in the morning, but we were already in Seattle for an event we had tickets for for 6 months.  We had a hotel room booked and she was unconcious by that time, so we decided to get up early the next morning and head down to her home town.   We found out when we got to the hospital that she had passed away the night before...from a nurse.  No one had bothered to call us and let us know, not that it would have made a difference, but it would have been nice to find out from family.  The funeral was like a family reunion.  Some of the brothers and sisters (10 of them) had not seen each other in 20 years.  I'm sure it's the first and last time I will see most of those people.

Anyway, It was a pretty difficult last couple of weeks.  I can't wait for a weekend of peace and quiet (starting tomorrow evening).  Now back to the unpacking!
