Paige had her dermatologist appointment on monday. The doctor said it's a good sign that her hair grew back quickly the first time even though she has a couple more spots now. She might end up just getting spots that come and go. I can deal with that. The doctor decided to get her thyroid tested since I guess some people with alopecia also sometimes have thyroid problems. I doubt Paige does but we were taking Noah to get his iron tested afterwards so I figured we might as well get Paige's bloodwork at the same time.
And let me tell you that was loads of fun.
They tried Noah's arms first. Adam had to hold him tight on his lap so he couldn't pull away. They couldn't find a vien in either arm and they were doing some serious digging with that needle! Poor kid was crying so hard and couldn't figure out why mommy wasn't saving him. It was heartbreaking especially since I know how much that hurts when they can't find a vien. They finally gave up and tried Paige's arms. Yes, both arms again. She kept crying and saying "Get it out!" They finally found one on the third try. Then they pricked Noah's finger and squeezed out about a thousand drops of blood from him. He wasn't too happy with that either. They both fell asleep in the car two minutes down the road.
We finally got our taxes back on Tuesday so Adam wanted to go right out after work and get himself a new laptop. His old one has been slowly going downhill for a while now. I went on a mini shopping spree online today and got some things I've been wanting and some birthday presents to put away for Paige and Noah. This weekend we're going to get a new vacuum. Is it sad that I'm excited about that? Our old hand me down of a hand me down vacuum doesn't even pick up cheerios anymore. We also gotta pay off some bills and probably get new tires for the car. The rest we will attempt to save. Ha ha.
