My husband and I are planning a visit to San Fransisco for our 1st anniversary, hopefully in August but more likely September. I had already planned to have at least one JSK complete by then, which I had planned to wear when we visited Japantown and Chinatown. Imagine my surprise when I came across
a post on Lolita Charm (while scanning various loli-blogs), which mentioned
"This summer, Baby the Stars Shine Bright will be opening its first American location in San Francisco"! Squee!
Being a knitter, I have also been scanning patterns on Ravelry, looking for the perfect stocking pattern... and I found it! I plan on knitting the
Rapunzel Stockings from the Fall/Winter 2008 Knit.1 magazine. The pattern is also available for download on he Vogue Knitting website. I just need to decide what color to knit and buy the yarn.
I have to wait until Thursday before I can go to Joann's to pick out fabric. That's when Miss Robyn gets paid and we are going together. I am itching to get started on my first JSK. I've also dug up instructions on
how to make a petticoat on CostumeWardrobe.com. Now only if I can find the right lace or netting.
While browsing the interwebz last night, we found a few different blouses that I think would be perfect! I need to make a trip up there to try them on. Luckily, there is a HUGE Forever 21 store not far from here!
Right now, I can't afford many, if any, brand items. That is why I am going to make and adapt a lot of my Lolita clothing. It's hard for me to find clothing that fits correctly. My torso is a medium, while I arms are a large. That also makes sewing my own items more practicle... until I visit the
BSSB store in San Fran, where I can try things on!
