mission
So its been a while. I've been busy, frustrated, apathetic about different things at different times.
My movie premiere was an excellent success. The audience loved it. I really could not ask for a better reception. Everyone was at the same time both entertained and traumatized, which was the whole point of the movie. Walking out of the theater i heard people saying to each other, "I am NEVER circumcising my kid!"
I got teared up when this girl brought her friend over to meet me. She told me that before she saw the movie, she didnt agree with me, but that the movie changed her mind and she'll never circumcise her kid. Six months of my life were justified right there. If I got to one person, it was worth it.
The movie's probably gonna start going out to festivals and stuff now. The main guy in my movie is taking a bunch of copies of it with him to the NoCirc conference in D.C. Coincedentally (not really) it falls on the same week as the AMerican Academy of Pediatrics convention in D.C. Oh man...
I really am very happy with how it turned out. I cant wait for it to go places.
Now I'm in the middle of writing my next movie, which will start shooting in November. I've been kicking around a few ideas, but now i gotta buckle down and write my 7 page script. My new writing teacher blows so its been pretty rough so far. Now the challenge is making a movie that was better than my documentary. We'll see what happens.
