Poetry Dump * Love Beats the Demon

The Book of the Cow

All those mad divas, dressed to the nines,
Dolled to the tens, all lost in time.
Looking for attention, what’s the bottom line?
Jolly ascension filled with desire.

While away hours in the company of whores
Without sentimental attachments
I’ll pay for it, as long as you wish
All bought and paid for.

Cunning cougars seducing young mice
Men aging and crippled,
Angry widows and wives,
Cheated out of their pleasures and inheritances.

Clever social climbers, femme fatales
Great overcomers and trophy wives
Eye candy and eye dolls eaten alive
Until they outlive their useful loves

In hidden circumstance, mistress
Mostly used up, and sacrificed their love
To help others out, continue to give
To help others out without feeling left out.

Give me a mother I’d like to fuck
One who feels grateful if I can get it up.
Chimera, medusa, siren and witch,
The perennial perinatal humonculous. ~psp

Song of Solomon

Lou Reed, not afraid to go down (like that lyre,
Orpheus, became amorphous) to find the
Velvet Underground. ~psp

Life Currency

My mother still sends me $20 every birthday
In a birthday card with her well wishes
Guilt money at the end of my rope,
I see it in her aging lines.
Now she died. ~psp
