The first time I hear a piece of music, I may be enamored with it, attempting to distinguish it
from my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes I am taken by the song or performance to the point
where I wish to listen to it repetitively, as though I can't get enough of it, until that novelty
eventually wears off. Then, on to the next listening experience. I have playlists of preferred
songs, which I like to listen to while reading or writing or drawing or painting. Other times a good
radio program suffices to fill that void. In any case, it has to intrigue me entertain and inspire me.
Otherwise what good is it. I rate songs by genre or presence or subtlety. There are numerous criteria
for categorizing, as many as there are tastes in people who listen to music. Music is such a blessing.
Anyway,
ibesamemucho said to me, "Music is our religion", to which I tend to agree. Nothing fulfills
or enriches me as that experience of performance of a journey of sound that transports me to
another place and time. I am in the music, the music is in me. Let the world go and flow with it.
What more can there be?

For instance, here's something new to me, spoken word sung over music, from Amanda Lear.

She looks like a woman, but she sounds like a man.
Different. Isn't it? Not your pop 40 jukebox.
Yet another rabbithole to explore!
