Coffee in Our Crypto Society (poem)

Jul 12, 2024 15:52

Everyday constant strangers I run into
Appear from nowhere, then suddenly
Disappear as quickly as they came.
It’s all in the timing, I get there
And am the only one in line
As suddenly behind me
Ten people appear
Out of nowhere.
No time for familiarizing,
No time for socializing,
No time for moralizing,
No time for equalizing,
No time for lingering,
No time for chatting,
About the weather.
Given on their smartphones
Picking up the preferences
For which they came to satisfy
Their vacancies
Young tarts with petit teats
Waiting impatiently, walk off
With their little treats
Intended to make themselves sweet.
Bold stragglers straddle the bar
Talking up the busy servers.

Coffee to go

I tire of chasing teats, those
Solemn milk cows who love to argue
In some mood they’re in, and match wits.

I met my elderly friend half way for coffee
We outstayed our welcome, they close at three.
He expressed that the only thing that keeps him going,
Is Metamucil. All the other octogenarians agreed,
Time to go home to take their medicines.
Respectfully, we have coffee
With a bunch of old fuckers, who know nothing
But what they see on TV, believe nothing
Except what is fed to them, on MSM
In technicolor by some talking head.

Unification, social democratic demolition
“Me” mentality for entitlement
“We” mentality for enrichment
All that money, so
“What’s in it for me?”
Save my cookies, so some day
I might own something,
Take our working capital
Replacing it with interest
Turning us into debt slaves
Somehow manipulate life currency
And end up with monopoly,
We were just getting into it, when...

So, we all leave, because the place closes at 3pm ~psp
