Leonard Peltier For President of the Asshole States of America Settled By Slave Traders Who Care Little About Human Dignity
Unless you are in their fucking crime mob, you get locked up.
Today is the 49th anniversary of the June 26, 1975, shootout at Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota between two FBI agents who drove in with unmarked cars and several members of the American Indian Movement (AIM), a Native American rights group operating out of the reservation at the time. Both FBI agents were wounded by gunfire before appearing to be shot execution-style, and a member of AIM, Joseph Stuntz, was also fatally shot. The FBI never investigated his killing but reports he was "apparently shot by a law enforcement officer at the scene" during the shootout.

Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944) is a Native American activist and a member of the American Indian Movement (AIM), an Indigenous rights advocacy group that worked to combat the racism and police brutality experienced by Native Americans, and who, following a controversial trial, was convicted of two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents in a June 26, 1975, shooting on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, blocking industrial development. He was sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment and has been imprisoned since 1976. Peltier became eligible for parole in 1993. As of 2022, Peltier is incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary, Coleman, in Florida. Authorities claim that FBI Agents Jack Coler and Ronald Williams were murdered by Leonard Peltier at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, who "Came rolling in to the reservation in an unmarked car without a warrant."
In his 1999 memoir Prison Writings: My Life Is My Sun Dance, Peltier admitted to participating in the shootout but said he did not kill the FBI agents. Peltier is currently serving two consecutive life sentences at Coleman Maximum Security in Florida after being convicted of aiding and abetting in the murder of two FBI agents on June 26, 1975, at the Jumping Bull Ranch in South Dakota.
Human rights watchdogs, such as Amnesty International, and political figures including Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and the 14th Dalai Lama, have campaigned for clemency for Peltier. On January 18, 2017, it was announced that President Barack Obama denied Peltier's application for clemency. Many people expected Bill Clinton to grant Peltier clemency before the end of his term. He didn't. Neither did George W. Bush at the end of his. Doesn't surprise me.
Peltier ran for president of the United States in 2004, winning the nomination of the Peace and Freedom Party, and receiving 27,607 votes, limited to the ballot in California. He ran for vice president of the United States in 2020 on the Party for Socialism and Liberation ticket with Gloria La Riva as the presidential candidate, as well as tickets for other left-wing parties and on the ballot of the Peace and Freedom Party. For health reasons, Peltier withdrew from those tickets on August 1, 2020.
Often referred to as a political prisoner, Peltier was the only one out of three AIM members charged in the murders of the two FBI agents who was not acquitted of the charges. Two other AIM members who were present, Robert Robideau and Dino Butler, were both acquitted following a trial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Attorney Moira “Mo” Meltzer-Cohen.“Mr Peltier is elderly, he has certainly been punished, and he has maintained his innocence for nearly 50 years despite him knowing that a throated admission of guilt would very likely spell freedom from him.” via

So, if you admit you killed two FBI agents, which you didn't, you will be let go? America is totally fucked in the head.
