There Goes the Neighbourhood!
There is a $2M home on our street that is constantly employing power-washers, pruners and yard cleanup.
Nice as it looks, holy shite! Who can afford this? $2M is one hell of a lot of moolah!
As our 70s cedar cabin rental grows moss and pine needles from the surrounding trees, this home remains immaculate, as new!
Trouble is that every week we are subject to the noises of their power equipment cleaning up the yard. They who have, and
we who have not. I guess it safe to say we know some people in high places, while noise pollution pervades the neighbourhood.
We, on the other hand, as old as our rental is, are facing annual rent increases. just a step from becoming homeless. I've
been told the taxes alone are $8-10,000 on lots on our street. The rich grow richer as the poor slowly waste away...
Powertools are a bloody nuisance. We garden by hand.
