Göran Söllscher : Eleven-string Baroque

Born in Växjo, a city in southern Sweden, Göran Söllscher ( 1955 - ) grew up in Kalmar and started playing
the guitar at the age of seven.

Söllscher won the 20th Paris International Guitar Competition in 1978 while he was a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark. He signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon, the largest label for classical guitar players. Since then, he has performed with most orchestras in Scandinavia and well-known orchestras such as the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
