Mount Baker Washington Full Moon

January is the Wolf Moon, from the packs of wolves heard howling outside the villages amid the cold and deep snows of winter. Another name is the Ice Moon.

The bright star appearing near the full Moon will be Pollux, the brighter of the twins in the constellation Gemini.
