You do not understand. We have a lot of cities that have become dead for economic reasons - they are not wanted. Previously, there was the production of the desired state. Now they are not wanted. And now the only thing that keeps them on the edge of life - government support, alkogl and drugs. It is capitalism - if not necessary - die.

i understand, russia has big fallout of large development on social scale and they are huge in scale when compared to our small rural towns and villages in canada (population under 1000) where residents simply move to the city for better jobs and education, in russia and china this happens on an industrial scale. how many such cities are there? when we drive in the country on old highways in canada past a dilapidated building or barn, we think, how quaint, how romantic! when we see the abandoned city on the internet on a large scale we think, how on earth did this happen?
the closest in canada i can think is in fort mcmurray oil sand project now in recession. the terrain that was once full of small forests, lakes and fresh water fishing now looks like the moon...
both war, industrialization, and change look to middle east now, bombed out cities. unimaginable!

We have no romantic. We have only alcohol & drugs. I'm not talking about the thinking people. I'm talking about the total weight. About ordinary people. Do you understand?
yes, and is probably better, since here we are too close to influence from america. drugs and vice. here we call that weight the average joe. the working class. the mainstream. ordinary people.
You do not understand. We now no longer working class. We have lost society. It is lost between the ideals of socialism and capitalism. Young trying to take your ideals, but face reality and realize that it is a bluff. Seniors can not accept your values and protest. You are a poet. You'll never be able to understand our psychology. I stand above the crowd, but
believe or not this is same in canada, generation young to old have different values. there is also ideals between socialism and capitalism. capitalism is more from point of view of english monarchy imperialism and america capitalism. canada is only a pawn in this debate. many groups protest for social equality, environment, political balance, canada is a melting pot. america is not, america is hot pot. china is same struggle between socialist or communist ideals and new capitalism. other name for hostile economic political takeover would be hegemony. capitalism uses industrial military complex to destabilize other world governments and cause civil unrest, civil war to divide and conquer politically and economically. it is an old game. only the faces have changed.

chernobyl is also a dead city. also pripyat In ukraine. much of this devastation is a result of poor industrialism..
auschwitz and dachau maybe are too dead cities.
death often is poetic, yet not romantic, shakespeare calls this "tragedy". greek and italian culture are fraught with stories of death.
