Plus ce change, plus ce le meme chose

The more that things change, the more they stay the same.

I heard some disturbing, but not unexpected news last night. It is with respect to some friends of mine that are pretty fucking vital in my life. Things are shaking up between them and that makes me sad. The problem is that it wasn't exactly a surprise. Sometimes we sit on the side lines and watch a train head toward a broken piece of track. We don't want to step on the conductor's toes because, after all, it's their train, but dammit...there's some goddamned broken rail up ahead and you're fucking throwing more coal in the furnace. So you sit back and watch it happen. When somebody says, "Hey...I think there's a broken piece of rail up there and I don't feel like slowing down the train, but I don't want to derail" you just sort of beat your head against the wall and say, "switch station ahead. Change tracks around the broken bits and rejoin the main track down the line".

But, then again, I have my own vessel that I just recently got back on course and need to focus on that.

Good luck, guys. I'm here for you.
