This has not been a good day. The dog barked to go out, so my wife went downstairs to let him out, missed the last step and broke her right ankle. She has cerebral palsy and her left side doesn't work very well. She walks well normally but the right leg takes most of the weight. I tried to pick her up and put her in a chair, but with limited lung capacity this wasn't a good idea. We called an ambulance. At the emergency room they confirmed it was broken. Put on a splint, sent her home and told her to see an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. A friend came and virtually dragged her into the house and into her chair. She plans on sleeping there. I can't lift her and this is not a good situation. I hope the doctor puts some kind of walking cast on that foot. After trying to pick her up this morning I thought the ambulance was going to need to take both of us.
