So now im in New York. Yesterday we drove half way to St. Lawrence and then drove the rest of the way this morning to check it out. Its in Canton, New York which is really close to the Arondacks... so basically in Canada.... haha. I had a tour and ran into this girl Danielle who I went to elementary school with. Every time I visit a school I either find someone from DYC who is going or someone else really random. It was pretty nice.
Then after that me and the mom drove back down to Geneva, New York to check out Hobart and William Smith. I have a tour tomorrow morning and so that should be pretty good. Its gorgeous up here though.
I have to make my final decision by April first for all my schools and I only have it narrowed down to five. They are in no particular order: Hobart, St. Lawrence, Drew, Elizabethtown, and Guilford. I am visiting Guilford in NC this weekend.... Basically I couldnt have waited to be more last minute.
I have a lot going on right now. My senior english term paper that I need to do to graduate is due friday and Ive only done about three pages of it because I have been in Biloxi and am now touring the countryside. So i have to pump out like atleast five more pages of that by friday and I dont get home until thursday night.... I cant really concentrate as you can probably tell when Im doing it in hotels and trying to make life altering decisions. BUT I WILL GET IT DONE and its gonna be GOOD!
Biloxi was unbelievable. In my group was Rob B, Chris K, Noah B, Nicco, Phil ( Noahs cousin), Katey Torrey, Mina, and Alexandria. It was so amazing. We built a shed for this family of eleven who were living in a small, cluttered, filthy house so they could store stuff. There were two grandparents, their three children, and the youngest daughters six kids. Plus her boyfriend. It was kindof insane. So we built this shed in their yard and played with three of their kids all day and the dog. And we would go in the house and fold clothes and do dishes and clean for hours while the grandfather chain smoked near the youngest kid's crib. Mina and I, one day, folded clothes for two hours... and we werent even done.
It was really incredible to see the change in the people and to interact with them. I really feel like I learned alot about myself and people in general this trip. It was heartwrenching to watch but it was also a lot of fun. We also did fun things when we werent working like chilling at the beach, going on a scooner ride, and eating lots of good food. It was an all around good time.
I gotta go get back to this dumb paper. I am pretty confident in the fact that I wont really get anything done tonight so its going to be a good one thursday night. oh well.
