...more information to be added soon --done!

My third time seeing recent Sydney band ZephyrsDog and several months since the first two times. They've grown a lot more solid since then, a somewhat tighter unit. Still trippy progressive rock with Michael George's gravel hearty vocals given a bit more (much needed) prominence than before. This band has a lot of potential to grow even further and establish themselves in this underground alternative/prog-rock/grunge (whatever you want to call it) scene. Keep your eyes and ears open for them.

My first time seeing Bushido, a three-piece band from Melbourne. The first song seemed rather good, but after that most of the songs sounded too much like Cog. Of course i like Cog and i think it's great that they're influential now, but i think perhaps Bushido are a little overly influenced by them to the point of being fairly unoriginal. But other than that, they seemed like a good band. There were some notable differences from Cog in a few songs, such as a guitar solos here and there.

.hinge triumphantly return to Sydney AGAIN (i think this is their FOURTH excursion up here THIS YEAR, having been up here February, March and April). Almighty and great they played as always, .glenn informed us that playing at the Annandale was one of their life-long dreams and thanked all that helped this to happen. Here's what songs they played:ADORE
CUT the chord
WAVE
DISCO
the ring of the GYPSY bitch
BOY
STYLUS
the MAN in the desert

SELF | IS A SEED set list:MORPHINE
COLLAPSE
VOTE ONE
RED
VENT
DINOSAUR (King Crimson)
ALPHA
COUNTER
PERSPECTIVE
SMOKE
...encore
YOUTHLESS
Highlights included the rare performance of a cover song, in this case "Dinosaur" by King Crimson, which Bleus described as attempting something ambitious, but they delivered it well. And what has become a tradition now, the crowd singing along and taking over for part of "Smoke". A great set and masterful performance. To think that Cog was headlining the Annandale only two years ago, let's hope that SELF | IS A SEED have a similar path to success in the next few years.
