Mario compares downloading films with growing vegetables. The explanation went something like *first you have to put some effort, but afterwards you can just rest and enjoy them coming...* and, although I did not fully get it, films really are growing fast, so every time we come back home after midnight, when the only thing I am concerned about is the shortest way from the door to my bed, Mario has some strong argument [downloaded] to keep me awake for couple of hours more.
The first and the only one chosen by me was the *Nightmare before Christmas* - absolutely brilliant from every aspect cartoon by Tim Burton with music by Danny Elfman, to which I am listening non-stop since than!
The second evening we had a bit more time, so the decision to go for the *Forrest Gump* was made. In fact, we tried to watch it last year, but I did not manage to get through the very specific accent and did not get much further then *my mum always says...*.
Tom Hanks got the Oscar for it in 1995, but give him five at least - his acting is worth it!
The film perfectly shows, how easy the life can be, if you were lucky to be born an idiot.
The *Children of men* has a very unusual and unpleasantly possible plot. As a science fiction film it makes its own prediction for the future, less distant then most of other examples - the year 2027. The place is real (perhaps too real) - the United Kingdom of Great Britain. There are no alien or robots, nobody is dressed into a shiny diving-bell and even the red double deckers are still present. The only problem is, that humans can no longed procreate and nobody knows why? It reminds me of *I am a Legend* and other films of the similar kind - indeed, the modern science fiction seams to be much closer to reality then it was couple of decades ago.
Oh, and according to the film, the U.K. government is sending out all the illegal immigrants, which sounds even more really and even less pleasant to think about.
