winter is weird

This winter has been the weirdest winter ever. There’s been a lot more snow than usual-and therefore a lot of canceled school, which means we’ll be in class until July, a lot of icicles, although that usually goes hand in hand with snow, and nothing even really going on. I mean, Katsucon was this weekend, and that took up three days, but that was really all (also, I can’t be the only one who wants to buy all the adorable stuff around conventions, moeeeeeeeeee~~~ stuff is my weakness. now there are FIGURES in my room, although they’re all super deformed style 8’D). I totally missed Valentine’s Day-or as my case may be, Singles Awareness Day-and was like “what” when my mom mentioned it. February is going by too quickly (actually I suppose this year in general is). I’ve been drawing/writing nothing lately, although school sucks away my time anyway so I wouldn’t have time for it in the first place. Not that I ever really draw.

So! Katsucon. The new hotel they relocated to is really beautiful, especially the lobby. It’s taaaaaaaaaaaaaall and there are a lot of windows (lol I left my camera at home). There weren’t that many people on Friday but on Saturday and Sunday there were people everywhere. You’d think there’d be more on Friday and less on Sunday, but I guess it has to do with it being a weekday. FUNi was the only industry panel there in the dealer’s room (although not surprising, considering they’re really the only ones still sending out DVDs to the mass market). There was a bunch of cute stuff there that I wanted/needed to buy, but of course the cute things cost the most. There weren’t really any panels that seemed very interesting, but we did go to Whose Line Is It Anime? (because we felt like taking a break and relaxing for a bit) which was hilarious. I think, outside of the AMV showing, that was the only other panel that we saw. Which was fine; I like simply pacing around the dealer’s room, looking at everything, considering you always miss stuff the first few times around.

There was also a maid café this year, and you could see a group of maids walking around the hallway sometimes. Seeing a bunch of maids walking in a sort of torrential maid current while you’re going up an escalator is amusing.

I can't really say much else about the convention, considering most of what I did was pace around the dealer's room/artist alley and occasionally sit down xD There's nice goods there though, don't blame me~

Since there’s nothing else much to say here I’ve come with a picture of my (stoned-looking) cat. I was playing around with my apparent webcam and somehow accidentally took a picture of the cat (even though she was off to my right, like, wtf).

stoned Oreo says hi :3

By the way, reading! I need new books to read. For my two or so watchers, do you have any books you'd recommend? I'm about to start reading The Prestige by Christopher Priest (mainly because I saw the movie and loved it olololol), but other than that I have absolutely no books to read. Any suggestions out there are appreciated :'D

convention, wtf, random, picture, rambling, maids, oreo
