I'll admit that I'm very "ehh" when it comes to the Oz-Gil-Alice stuff - I love all the Break and Sharon stuff, but they're definitely secondary to the main trio and now that they've gotten some massive development, I know they'll be sitting off to the side for a bit. SO IT GETS ME SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS HILARIOUS CHARACTER IN AND. omg he's a Nightlay and. You need to see this chapter, it's really great and raises all sorts of new possibilities and generally gets me excited about the series. Which, you know, I love it, but it's hard for me to get really pumped when there isn't a character that I really LOVE around.
WHIPPING OFF HIS TIE FOR RIGHTEOUS TELLING-OFF. Oh man, I think I love him JUST FOR THAT, seriously!
And I admit a terrible bias for Break and Sharon someday, Mochizuki will tell us exactly what happened to my mother, sob I hope, but I also really like all the crazy stuff going on with the Baskervilles -- so the fact that Vincent is in cahoots with them, but this other Nightlay obviously isn't! is sort of pinging me hard.
Also, how much do I love that not all the Nightlays are messed up and angsty (so far), but are also retards like everyone else. A LOT, REALLY. 8(
Yeah, getting to see that the Nightlay family isn't entirely like Vincent is great, because until this chapter, I'd gotten the impression that they weren't that great? So seeing this Nightlay who IS DISPLEASED is- really awesome and makes my interest in the series skyrocket.
Well, that's a fairly safe assumption -- Mochizuki was really playing up NIGHTLAYS ARE DAAAAARK and VESALIUS ARE LIIIIIIIIGHT and Break himself mentions that the Nightlays sort of do the "dirty work" of the nobility by taking care of the political killings that the other Houses can't really dirty their hands doing. So we were two for two about ANGSTY MESSED UP NOT-OKAY NIGHLAYS.
And then we get Eliot. Who is obviously is nothing like that! THANK YOU, MOCHIZUKI. ;o;b
Well, considering what we get at the veeeery end of the chapter - which I don't wanna mention until I KNOW you've read the chapter - there's still potential for him to be messed up, just. Not entirely in the Vince and Gil way? IT'S REALLY AWESOME TO SEE A NIGHTLAY LIKE THIS, EITHER WAY.
I haven't even gone through the whole chapter yet and I think I love Angry Guy. HE'S LIKE A NOBLEMAN SHOUNEN RETARD. 8(
Obviously what we need is another triple round. IT'S LIKE TRADITION NOW FOR OUR CANON, AMIRITE.
