Over the last several weeks I have watched in awe as a dominant force in American and world politics has attempted to destroy itself. The Democrat Party, once a juggernaut of seemingly endless power, wealth and influence has become a laughing stock. Liberals around the world must be scratching their heads and wondering what could have happened to

On the ports deal: 2/3rds of Americans believe its a bad deal
The Abramoff Scandal: Wasn't it Ed Rollins who said just last night on Lou Dobbs wait til around August. But of course Bush says he didn't know Jack, a member of the transition team. It's kinda strange that he would ask Jack about the twins, considering he didn't know the guy.
But the righties still have the media to whip. The 34% Bush approval supposedly concocted by CBS. The 18% that Cheney got might even be lower than OBLs number.
Now we are giving Iran 30 days while giving India nuke technology. And their military facilities require no inspection. I guess IAEA inspections only pretain to who we want them to.
By the way let your buddy Bush know that Pakistan is not an Arab country.
How about the $8 billion or so that is unaccounted for in Iraq? When is the oil going to flow to pay for the rebuilding. How about "we're winning the war" when terrorist attacks are up 30% in one month. No Iraqi units are capable of combat operations without assistance. This is from what was the 4th largest standing army in the world?
Should we send the commander in chief a card now that 2300 Americans have died in a war that was predicated on a lie that Bush and Co knew was a lie?

I never said one way or the other what I thought about the ports deal. I am, by the way, against it. I don't believe any foreign entity, friendly or otherwise, should control any portion of American transportation infrastructure. Foreign companies are also buying up our toll roads.
I pay scant attention to polls, regardless of who the pollster may be. Ask "Is Bush doing a good job?" at a conservative site, and then ask the same question at a liberal site. You know how that'll go. Polls are about as useful as teats on a tom cat.
As to the war, we were right to invade Afghanistan. Iraq?
I don't know. I'll wait to see if the WMD's really did end up in Syria or if this is CYA on Bush's part.
As to my being a kool-aid drinker.... I'll just say this:
The Repubs worry me. But the Dems scare me out of my socks. I regard the Repubs as a lesser evil. America doesn't have a truly viable political party because 90% of our politicians are either corrupt, inept, or both.
As to your "giving me something to chew on"... You haven't mentioned anything I haven't already heard. You did, at least, take a stab at actually addressing the article. That's better than most of those who've posted so far.
Have a pleasant weekend
