Just another day..

[Following the email that was sent out by Kakuzu-san, there is now a suggestions Box sat on the desk of the Library. If anybody has an ideas on how to raise funds for the school, or any views on the situation, feel free to post them inside this box. ]

[As for Konan, she is doing the same thing she is always doing. Placing books on their correct ( Read more... )

[He has a free period, and the first place he goes is the library--at least there, he'll have a viable excuse to tell people to shut the fuck up if they decide to stick their noses into his business.

Stupid Itachi. Stupid Sai. Stupid Naruto.

He knows he's made the right decision when he pushes open the doors and the sound of Mozart's piano sonata washes over his ears, soothing.

He wanders over to an empty table and sits, dropping his backpack down on the floor and closing his eyes, just listening. A shade of melancholy rises in him, his fingers twitching to wrap around the neck of his violin, but the pieces are doubtless lying in some landfill somewhere.]

[Konan had been in the small room behind her desk, heating up some water to make her tea. After hearing the Library door open, she peeks her head out of the door to take a look at who it was.

Not seeing anybody at first, she walks out in to the Library. Perhaps a student had come in for a book, and was behind one of the tall bookshelves?

She notices the backpack first. And then the dark-haired boy, sat back in a chair, his eyes closed. She had not seen him before.]

Hello. [She speaks softly as not to startle him, offering a smile] I have not seen you before. New?

[He wouldn't startle, even if she'd made a loud, sudden noise--his senses are too dull. He tips his head back and lets his eyes open halfway, looking up at the woman.

She doesn't look nosy. She probably has to check up on him for liability reasons or some shit--he decides briefly engaging her can't hurt.]

People seem to think that means "foreign species".

Ah. [Another smile] I imagine that your first few days have been a little hectic. Many of the students here.. [a pause] ..and the staff, are a little... different.

[She wonders briefly why he was here. He didn't seem interested in looking for any books, so perhaps he just wanted somewhere quiet to be for a while?]

My name is Konan, by the way. I run the Library. Most of the troublemakers rarely come in here, so if you were looking for somewhere peaceful to hide out, this is probably the best place for you.

Hn. I'd say they're all the same. [Frown. Sasuke lived with different, Sasuke himself is the embodiment of it; maybe they're "different" to someone else's standards, but not his.]

I guess I'll see you a lot, then.

The same...? [She will not ask what he means by that, even if she does not understand]

[The sound of clicking in the background reminds her of what she had been doing before Sasuke came in. Taking a step back, she is about to turn and go back behind her desk- she was making tea]

Do you like hot tea...? I have extra, if you want some? [Normally she would not offer, but perhaps if he wants to relax, and there are no other students around anyway, she sees no harm]

You know. Appropriating insanity in an attempt to appear charming.

[Tea sounds amazing. He hasn't had any in years--remembers it, linked intrinsically with memories of his mother.]

...Yeah. I'll have a cup.

Ah.. [She isn't sure what that is supposed to mean exactly, so she doesn't push it]

[With a nod, she disappears for a couple minutes, returning with two hot mugs of tea in her hand]

Here you go, um.. I don't think you ever told me your name..

[He appreciates that she doesn't push it--the first time in a long time he's had that happen. It almost makes him want to explain.

Almost.

Wordlessly, he takes the mug and looks away from her warm, deep eyes.]

Sasuke. I'm Itachi Uchiha's brother.

[She realises that standing over him may seem a little awkward, yet she doesn't want to sit down in case he is expecting her to leave.. so she chooses some sort of middle ground which involves half-sitting on the edge of a table for now]

Ah.. I had heard that you would be attending here. Well- I heard it from Obito, not from Itachi obviously. [Because Itachi doesn't really discuss anything at all, not the most social of creatures where as Obito is far too much of a gossip]

[Oddly, he doesn't mind if she stays.

Carefully, he takes a sip of tea, hot on his tongue.]

I rarely talk to Obito. [Sasuke and Itachi have the antisocial tendencies in common.]

[She leans back a little, sipping at her own tea and contemplating]

Ah. Obito and I are... friends, I guess. He certainly seems to be the loudest one of your family [There is a small smile] Itachi and I rarely speak outside of work matters though.

He rarely talks to anyone outside work matters.

[A small frown betrays what Sasuke thinks of this state of affairs.]

...Not even at home? [Another frown. Why such a grouch, Itachi?]

I'm just a tax refund. [Takes another sip of tea.] But whatever. I don't care.

...[She stops drinking from her mug, simply staring at him with a confused look, trying to work out if it was some sort of joke and she missed it] Surely that is not the case.
