i used to not understand why people went to state school and hung out with the same people from high school and never branched out. i used to not understand why people never left mobile. but then i remember a conversation i had with emily once... "i wish we all went to college together. like our own college and no one else went there but the ones we want. emily, i think thats called a sorieghty" and then laying in my pool in mobile, drinking a daquiri with my close friends i realized it. if i could figure out a way for all my friends to be in new orleans, all the ones from high school. that be perfect. my high school friends + my city. i might even be tempted to give up nola if everyone moved back to mobile and we all got little houses in midcity. bc i realized the only people i really hang out with in nola, i knew in mobile too.
