I'm Not Fakin'...A Whole Lot A Shakin' Goin' On...
Hey y'all! So...it looks like this Spring is shaping up to be a very busy time...
I've got a few projects in the works and I'm very very excited about 'em...
Here's what's going on:
* I'm mixing a couple tracks for The Dregs...They needed some help with the production of their long-awaited Xmas album, and I offered my services...Along with Charles Sadler, we'll be working on the rest of the album and hopefully have it ready in a few months...I myself am currently having some technical issues with ProTools (Holy Proprietary, Batman!), but I should be back on track by next week...
* I'll be heading into the studio with Orkestar Bez Ime in a couple weeks, to record my first album with them...No title as of yet, but we're looking at having the CD ready come out by this summer...I'm very excited to finally be recording with these guys and I think the tracks are going to be kickin'...
* Finally, the really surprising and exciting news: I'M WORKING ON MY FIRST SOLO ALBUM...I decided it was time to record my guitar looping pieces and get those out to the public...It'll have a trip-hop/world beat feel to it, with guitar as the main focus, though there'll probably be some other weirdness as well...Not a lot of guest artists on this album, but I'll be bringing in a few percussionists for some of the tracks...Corey Benson, who has worked with the Dregs and a number of other talented folks, will be helping me with recording and mixing...I will also be building a website at the same time, with the help of OBI vocalist Natalie Nowytski, who is also a great graphic designer...
I still have to find financing for the project, and there's a bunch of other things I need to do, but my deadline for the CD release and the website will be July 4th...I'd like to have CDs ready for CONvergence, and then maybe have a more public CD release show planned...OBI may also plan a CD release date later in August...
