Aside from another great gig with Trevor Hartman at Kip's this past Friday and a solo acoustic gig last night at a private party in Edina (Ooh La La!), I've had my shoulders, neck and head to the grindstone, studying for my Music Theory Exam that is THIS Tuesday...
I'm feeling more prepared each day but I'm still nervous...
I'm going through three previous exams, running through MacGamut Ear Training software, and banging my head against secondary and leading tone dominants (along with theory terms that I've forgotten over the summer)...It's really the reason that most of you haven't seen much of me over the summer - aside from gigs and projects, THIS has been taking up most of my time...
And I'm going to pass...I'm going to pass...I'm going to pass...
That's the goal...
And then after the Exam on Tuesday night, the rest of the next week is like this:
* Leave for DragonCon (Atlanta, GA) on Wednesday morning (9/2) with Sarah
* Arrive on Thursday (9/3) - set up booth
* Leave Monday (9/7) - hopefully hang out with Uncle Rick and Aunt Laurie in Nashville
* Arrive back in the Cities on Wednesday (9/9)
* Start school on Thursday (9/10)
Wheeee....

Aside from studying, I'm doing something else important today...
I'm going to the Benefit for Dean Magraw - Dean is a fantastic local guitarist who is in need of a bone marrow transplant...Since Rachel's Benefit four years ago, I know firsthand how amazing it is to be a part of a supportive community - it's time to give back...
Info on the Benefit:
