just finished 1984.

consequentially, am depressed.

that is all.

oh...'cept for one thing.

why, why, why, why, why do people like 'the darkness'? what is this sudden rush of madness in which adolescent girls enjoy listening to a man in tight pants sing indiscernible words in a high, high, high voice? is it just that this generation can't seem to ( Read more... )

I... I love 1984.

Erhm. But anyway. (Did you know that Bowie's album Diamond Dogs is rather blatantly based on 1984? This is-- *muffles self*) ANYway.

I do really quite love that book. It's gotten me back into my political sci-fi craze.

Consequentially, I have begun to write a fictional intro to a story that introduces (being an introduction) the concept of dihydropower, 5/8 water and 3/8 urine. I am so good.

no, don't get me wrong, i love the book too. i adore it, in fact. it's just that the ending is so depressing! all that rebellion quashed into nothing! NOTHING!

-composes self-

you know what? i wanna have a bad movie marathon. and i wanna invite you, the other sarah, and carmin. and we can rent bad movies and watch them and laugh and feel superior, 'cuz that's how we get our kicks 'round here.

doin' anything friday night?

OH SWEET JESUS! if it's friday night, we could ALSO go down to j.j. bean to see if vincent and incompetent are there! SWEET!

ooh. very...disgusting, if we're talking about drinking water. but interesting. i can only imagine the life of a donor.

hmmm...the one character i didn't really like was julia. she always struck me as a bit of an airhead, when you got deeper into the book and found out that she was only in it for the fun. no, airhead is the wrong word, but...ignorant.

and...that is all.

Yeah, Julia was irritating, but if you think about it, her approach was really the more sensible one.

I know, the end is depressing. Incredibly depressing. But damn.

Oh, and the best? "Your mind appeals to me Winston. It is exactly like mine, except you happen to be insane."

AH HA HA! oh, how i love that line. i'm going to regress back into my teeny-bopper trend and start quoting it at people. "your mind appeals to me, Mr. Mueller." sweet.

i also loved it when winston tells julia that she's only a rebel from the waist down. hell, if i was there, i would have thrown my arms around him as well.

well, yes, it is the more sensible approach, but it doesn't really strike me as though she realizes it's the more sensible approach, because she's uninterested in any OTHER kind of approach. i can't help but like her though. she's endearing.

I actually think she might realize it. I don't know... I haven't actually thought about Julia in depth before.

Essay? Hmm...

God, I love writing essays. I am like a big walking NERD.
