Letters from historical London

Mar 15, 2008 13:26

Dear Renee,

In case you are wondering why a very old letter has been sent to Gotham via the intermediary of the Fandom post office, suffice enough to say that we have run into yet another situation we did not plan on invading our little island.

A group of angel statues posing as angels has shown up and have been sending their victims to the past, myself included. Currently I'm in London in the year 1936 with Sheriff Mustang and several others.

We are currently working on finding a way back as well as a method of stopping these statues so no other people are thrown back in time. So far we haven't had much success but I've only been here a couple of days.

Renee, I know your current investigation is important but until we find a way back, please check in with Ralph to ensure a police presence on the island. And if we don't find a way back...

If we don't find a way back, I just want to know how much I enjoyed working with you, Renee. You're a credit to your profession and you have my undying respect. I regret that I will not be able to meet you after your trip to Tibet. I had a feeling we would have a lot to talk about.

Sincerely,

Dale Cooper

Dear Faith,

If you are receiving this letter than my faith in the postal delivery system has not been misplaced. I am alive and well in London, 1936. Two days ago I was attacked by one of the stone angels and sent here to this time line. Sheriff Mustang and other people from the island are also here. We are looking for a way to get back to the island and 2008 as well as information on the statues as well.

Faith, I cannot express this enough: DO NOT go after these statues on your own. Make sure you have someone to go with you. Hopefully someone you can trust. I also advise that you do not go after those objects until offensive or defensive measures have been developed. I would imagine you are feeling frustrated or angry at the moment but you cannot let your emotions govern you. Use those feelings to focus on a solution and help find a way to get us home. If that's possible.

I won't lie to you Faith. While I hope a solution is possible, I can't deny that we all may be stuck here in the past. If that's the case I'll have to accept that fact and continue to work on investigating the statues from my point in history. If I don't make it back, I want you to promise me that you will not give up your goal of redemption. I know it's a difficult road to follow and I apologize that I cannot be there to assist you.

Just know this: I trust you and have faith in you. Forgive the unintentional pun.

Sincerely,

Dale Cooper
