It probably took a while for the "certain" person to show up. Especially as that person was in the middle of working on his boat and had to clean up a bit to see why the heck the police department wanted to see him on the weekend.

"Sheriff Cooper?" Gibbs asked as he walked into the office. "You wanted to see me?"

"I did," Dale said rising up to greet him. "And please, just call me Dale."

"Sixteen years as a federal officer. Awarded the purple heart, Silver star, Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal-" Dale said listing things off from memory as he poured the coffee.

"All I'm saying Mr. Gibbs is that you are certainly overqualified for the position," Dale continued as he handed Gibbs the coffee. "I understand that you're retired so the position I had in mind was strictly part time and as required whenever certain invasions happen."

"Part time?" Gibbs asked.

Maybe keeping a toe or two in law enforcement wouldn't be a horrible thing.

Plus the coffee was damn good.

Well. Dale hadn't expected it to be that easy.

"Think you can come in on Monday to fill out some-"
