A friendly visit!

Oct 07, 2013 02:16

Ira had a day off, a nice fall weekend to himself. Ira loved October, the beautiful leaves and the slight chill in the air. After waking up early, he realized what he really wanted was to visit someone special. After calling Will to ask if he could stop by, Ira took a walk. He bought a little basket for the walk. He stopped at a small bakery to ( Read more... )

From what Will has seen of the day - and he hasn't seen much, only leaving in order to pick up coffee for he and Zoe - it was a lovely day. He made a mental note to get out before sundown so that he can enjoy the crisp Fall air, taking the chance to act like a kid again, crunching through the fallen leaves that litter the sidewalk of his neighborhood. But first, work. And then a phone call from Ira, which makes the day all the better.

He didn't require anything special from Ira in order to make him happy, so his visit and sandwiches were more than enough. The candy is a nice touch, because who didn't love candy? It was the time of year when everybody looked forward to mostly treats and few tricks. He's in the back when Ira arrived, and Zoe told him so, to go right ahead and go back, happy to be help.

"Hey there, handsome." Ira stood in the doorway of Will's office a moment. He studied his handsome man, just taking in the details here. When she left, he grinned, and spoke affectionately about the woman. " She has the best style."

Ira stepped over to Will, and kissed him softly before setting the basket on his desk. He reached a hand forward to gently smooth Will's hair back. "I bought you both some lunch, and even more treats. I didn't know if she liked meat, or if you did, so I picked up two vegetarian supreme sandwiches. I also packed you any type of candy you may desire."

Will turns, happy to hear the sound of Ira's voice in the otherwise quiet back workroom. He's usually a bit of a workaholic, but a visit is the best reason he could think of to take a break. The tea set he's appraising can wait for a little while - but he's not going to make Ira wait any longer than absolutely necessary. "Hi, yourself. I'm sure she'd appreciate hearing that from you."

He hums happily into the kiss, groaning softly when it eventually has to end. At least his lips are replaced by his fingers, which are just as good, only in a different way. He's eager, of course, to see what's in the basket, but even more so to continue this sort of easy intimacy with Ira. "She's vegetarian, I'm not, but I don't mind the loss of meat if it's in a good sandwich. And candy, well, we all can enjoy that."

Will looked so handsome when he was working. True, Will could rob an old lady, and Ira would still see a handsome man. It wasn't about that. Ira liked a man who worked hard, and a man who loved his career. That was a handsome trait. "Are you very busy today? I'll only be here for lunch, I swear."

"Theses sandwiches are ginormous too." Ira smiled and kissed the top of Will's head. One could say that Ira is quite the doting boyfriend. He set up his lunch, carefully of course. Ira has always been cautious in Will's shop. The last thing he would ever want is to break something special. "Thanks for letting me stop by- What are you doing tonight after work?"

Handsome. Will doesn't know that he looks handsome more than he looks ... obsessed. But there are so many items in the world with amazing historical value, and although he knows that he can't find them all, he still works hard to find what he can - and to help patrons find out of their valued treasures actually were as valuable as they think. "The great thing about being the boss is being able to make my own hours - you can stay for as long as you'd like."

He can't help the way his cheeks flush at the sweet little gesture - it surprises him, but it's pleasant and he actually kind of really likes it a lot. He's not exactly used to this sort of treatment, but it would be an easy enough thing to become acclimated to them. "Mm - might need a nap after this. Think you might want to stay a while?" He chuckles, running a hand through his hair. "I actually didn't have any plans at all. Have something in mind?"

Ira felt that connection to Will, he seemed to be a man who loved his job. The word obsess seemed perfect. Ira could speak that language. "That is pretty great. One day I'd like to be my own boss. One day. I'll be right back," Ira gave a sweet smile, before stepping out of Will's office to offer Zoe the sandwich he bought her. She thanked him, and he did compliment her style. Ira genuinely loved fashion, as Will may find out soon, if he hadn't noticed. Ira had countless magazines subscriptions, most about fashion and even a cat magazine. He joined Will again, sitting in a chair across from his desk.

"Great sandwich, right? The Thanksgiving of sandwiches. If you need a nap, I'm great with those." He grabbed a few pieces of candy, and popped a piece into his mouth. The fact that Ira got to see his boyfriend today put him in a great mood. I wanted to see if you'd like to go out tonight? We could grab a few drinks and have a causal night together."

They understand each other when it comes to that, then, being involved in business, wanting to spend time doing what it was that they loved. Will could appreciate a man who is motivated to do what makes him happy. "I have no doubt about that, Ira, you're a talented photographer." He pauses, nodding his understanding, and taking the time that he's gone to clear off his work desk a bit more. No need keeping it a mess when there's no work to be done during this little break. When Ira returns and takes his seat, Will scoots his closer, just close enough that their knees can touch. Any contact is good contact, after all.

"Really great - I mean, if I could make a sandwich like this, I'd be a very happy man." He laughs softly, nodding. "But I'd be just as happy if you stayed ... if I decided to take that nap, that is. I sleep better when I'm not alone." And then his smile widens and he nods again, only this time, with more conviction. "Yes, yeah, I'd be more than happy to do something tonight."

Ira felt his cheeks blush due to Will's compliment. "Thanks, sweetheart." This guy made Ira feel good, and he even felt like a silly teenager. Ira reached out to touch Will's thigh in a gentle manner, it was innocent affection.

"I was once told that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. I can't cook, but I can buy you any meal you'd crave." Ira gave a playful smile, he can't promise he'll be the most domestic boyfriend, but what he lacked in some areas, he made up for in others. Ira has felt that Will took him as he was, and it had been a long time since Ira's felt that way with someone. Will really excited Ira. "I know I sleep better when I have a cute man next to me. Tonight I even get to show him off to the world."

There's something that is both extremely attractive and endearing about the slight flush of pink to Ira's cheeks, and Will offers a soft little smile in return. There's something very sweet about this sort of ... cute courting thing they're doing, even though Ira knows that Will is already his, and Will knows that Ira is his. He doesn't mind the touch, even subconsciously shifting closer.

He chuckles softly, ducking his head, and then gazing up at Ira through overlong hair. "If that's the case, then you're dating the right man. I - uh ... I know how to cook. I'm a pretty good cook, actually. But for as much as I love to stay home, I also love to go out, so I'll take you up on that offer." Will certainly doesn't require that Ira do anything that he isn't comfortable doing - just as the other man thinks, he likes him for who he is. "Shall I dress up for tonight, or can I come out looking like this? I want to make a good impression, after all, since it sounds as though you'd like to show me off."

"You know, you're my boyfriend now," he gave a teasing, but sweet smile. What? It was nice to say out loud. Boyfriend. "Does this mean I can ask you to cook for me sometime? In exchange, I could clean your room, or do your laundry or organize your bookshelf. I'm okay with that kind of stuff." He sat back in his seat, stealing another piece of candy. "Oh no, don't dress up. It's a casual date at a bar, if that is okay? I am hoping to introduce you to a few of my friends."

"And you're mine," Will responds, no hesitation needed. Boyfriend. Honestly, he loved the sound of that. And with Ira's next question, he nods, smiling all the wider. "I'd be happy to cook for you anytime you'd like - and you don't even have to do anything in return! Of course, if you want to surprise me by doing any of those things ... I would not deny you that." Will looks down at his usual uniform of button down shirt and jeans - at least he didn't dress like a total slob. "It's fine. And I very much look forward to meeting your friends. Do you think they'll approve of me?"

"Deal! I'll surprise you with kindness. You'll never see it coming!" he winked at Will before leaning back in to touch him again. He thought about Will's question, his eyes searching his boyfriends face. His gently squeezes his leg in support, offering a supportive smile. "I think they will approve. I talk about you so much, and on top of that I have quite a few photos of you on my phone. I think they feel as though they know you, which isn't the same, but they'd like to change that." Like most people. Ira didn't introduce just anyone to his group of friends. "Are you nervous about tonight?"

"Come on, Ira, your kindness isn't much of a surprise at all! You can see it from a mile away," he replied, laughing teasingly all the while. The encouraging smile, and the way that he squeezes Will's thigh, and he feels at least a little of his worry just melting away. He's really got nothing to be nervous about, right? He's a good boyfriend, as far as he's concerned, and he's very adamant about treating Ira right, and about giving him the time and attention that he deserves. So he's a bit quiet and a bit reserved, but surely they would understand that it was just his personality, and had nothing to do with them. "You've put in a good word for me already, so I suppose that I've got nothing to be worried about. It'll be great, I'm sure."

"You have nothing to worry about. You're just meeting a few close friends. Two are fellow photographers I've known for many years, Zach and Oliver, and the third is a model. and I'd say she and I are very close. They're pretty down to Earth." They're pretty too. Something Ira didn't want to mention was that his three dear friends were in a love triangle. He didn't want his boyfriend to go in with opinions. "It'll be drinks at a bar, and we'll have some fun I hope. You don't need to be nervous. I totally put in a good word for you."

"If you say I'll be fine, then I'm sure that I will be. You know me, though, I don't tend to get out very often. I certainly haven't had dinner or drinks with anyone but Zoe for a long time. I trust that you'll stop me if I do or say anything too awkward?" He nods, though, already feeling his stomach calm as Ira describes his friends. Obviously, he wants to make a good impression, after all, he plans on sticking around for a long while to come. He certainly wouldn't go in with preconceived notions, bad ones, anyway, because he's a staunch believer of 'to each their own'.

"If I thought you were walking into a lions den, I wouldn't introduce you to my friends. Don't feel awkward." Ira stood up to lean in to kiss his boyfriend gently. It meant a lot to Ira that Will was even willing to think about meeting his friends, let alone actually go. He is already so unlike anyone Ira's dated. It's lucky they met when they did- Ira's at a point in his life where he is winding down. He's not the party monster he had been. "Would you feel more comfortable if Zoe was in your corner? Lets invite her, if you think she'll have a nice time."
