Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today

Yesterday I met up with V to check out a local gallery space that impressed us both. I'm not ready, but I think she will get a show there very soon, and from what I know of her work, the space will be perfect. Afterward, Rob and I stopped at Home Depot for painting supplies, and then we caught a funny flick, Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

The sun has gone into hiding now, but I love rainy days.

Today Rob and I went down to the Artomatic space and painted my wall. I chose the Harvest Brown for the wall and flat black for the rack from which lights will be hung. Harvest Brown turned out to be almost exactly the same color as the plywood, which is disappointing. We intend to return later this week to paint it a bit darker, and then in two weeks we'll go back again to hang work.

We came back mid-monsoon and took a nap before Rob made a wonderful venison steak dinner. As I type this I realize that my weekend is gone again, but at least the week should be a good one.

Remember to watch Oprah on Tuesday (Earth Day), as my most recent illustrating project, Gorgeously Green will be featured. The author, Sophie Uliano, will be joined by Julia Roberts, writer of the book's forward.
