Buffy&Spike

A selection of my favourite scenes; with some quotes :)

Fool for love

Buffy: What do you want now?
Spike: What's wrong?
Buffy: I don't wanna talk about it.
Spike: Is there something I can do?

That's a very interesting episode and not only for the B/S moments. We (and Buffy) discover who Spike was before he became a vampire; it's also obvious that underneath it all; he's still William which is obvious when Buffy rejects him. As a souless vampire he was always different (if you compare him to souless Angel for example), which was comfirmed in the season 7 episode, Lies my parents told me.

I love the last scene to death; he was so ready to kill her after she treated him that way; but the minute he sees her crying he gets into protective mode and he tries to comfort her. Such a sweet scene.

Pretty ;)

Intervention

[Buffy is pretending to be the Buffybot]
Buffy: Why did you let that Glory hurt you?
Spike: She wanted to know who the key was.
Buffy: Oh, well, I can tell her, and then you won't...
Spike: No! You can't ever. Glory never finds out.
Buffy: Why?
Spike: 'Cause Buffy - the other, not so pleasant Buffy - anything happened to Dawn, it'd destroy her. I couldn't live, her bein' in that much pain. Let Glory kill me first. Nearly bloody did.

The last scene is so much love; it's their first real kiss and I couldn't ask for a sweeter one. That's probably the moment when Buffy started to warm up to him; sure he was still a vampire but he was ready to do anything for her.

Randomly pretty

After life

Buffy: How long was I gone?
Spike: Hundred and forty-seven days yesterday. Uh... hundred and forty-eight today. 'Cept today doesn't count, does it? How long was it for you... where you were?
Buffy: Longer.

One of my favourite scene; Spike is the only one to realise that something is wrong with her. I love the way he just hold her hands and the way he says "today doesn't count" kills me everytime

Spike: Uh, I do remember what I said. The promise... to protect her. If I'd have done that... even if I didn't make it... you wouldn't have had to jump. But I want you to know I did save you. Not when it counted, of course, but... after that. Every night after that. I'd see it all again... do something different. Faster or more clever, you know? Dozens of times, lots of different ways... Every night I save you.

Such a sad moment; it clearly kills Spike that he couldn't keep his promise

Buffy: I was happy. Wherever I was... I was happy... at peace. I knew that everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time didn't mean anything. Nothing had form. But I was still me, you know? And I was warm, and I was loved, and I was finished. Complete. I - I don't understand theology or dimensions, any of it really... but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of there, pulled out, by my friends. Everything here is hard and bright and violent. Everything I feel, everything I touch, this is Hell. Just getting through the next moment, and the one after that, knowing what I've lost. They can never know. Never.

Visually it's a gorgeous scene; but it's heartbreaking.

Flooded

Spike's adorable in that scene so it was worth picspaming :P

Once more with feelings

Buffy: [singing] There was no pain, no fear, no doubt, till they pulled me out of heaven. So that's my refrain. I live in hell 'cause I've been expelled from heaven. I think I was in heaven. So give me something to sing about. Please give me something.

My favourite BTVS episode ever for too many reasons to list. The kiss is very cinematographic (is that a word? lol) and cliché but that's why it works so well.

Tabula Rasa

Again a beautifully shot kiss

Smashed

Spike: So you wanna jump right to the kissing, then, eh?
Buffy: I am not kissing you, Spike. Once was...
Spike: Twice.

Spike: Oh, poor little lost girl. She doesn't fit in anywhere. She's got no one to love.
Buffy: Me? I'm lost? Look at you, you idiot. Poor Spikey. Can't be a human, can't be a vampire. Where the hell do you fit in? Your job is to kill the slayer. But all you can do is follow me around making moon eyes.
Spike: I'm in love with you.
Buffy: You're in love with pain. Admit it. You like me because you enjoy getting beat down. So really, who's screwed up?
Spike: Hello. Vampire. I'm supposed to be treading on the dark side. What's your excuse?

That scene was voted the hottest scene on TV for a reason ;) It was hot indeed and really well directed. The whole conversation right before was also wonderfully acted

Wrecked

Buffy: Last night was the most perverse, degrading experience of my life.
Spike: [smiles fondly] Yeah. Me too.

You gotta love the banter ;) And the fact that even if she says "i hate you i hate you', she's still ready to do it again lol

I love the lighting in this scene

Dead things

Buffy: We missed the bed again.
Spike: Lucky for the bed.
Buffy: Is this a new rug?
Spike: No. It just looks different when you're under it.
Buffy: This place is okay for a hole in the ground. You fixed it up.
Spike: I ate a decorator once. Maybe something stuck.

Kind of a cute scene cause they have a very "normal" conversation; well as normal as these two can do ;)

Spike: Do you even like me?
Buffy: Sometimes.

Buffy: A girl is dead because of me.
Spike: And how many people are alive because of you? How many have you saved? One dead girl doesn't tip the scale.
Buffy: That's all it is to you, isn't it? Just another body.
Spike: Buffy...
[she hits him]
Buffy: You can't understand why this is killing me, can you?
Spike: Why don't you explain it?
[she starts beating him up]
Spike: Come on, that's it, put it on me. Put it all on me. That's my girl.
Buffy: I am not your girl.
[knocks him down and starts pounding him]
Buffy: You don't have a soul. There is nothing good or clean in you. You are dead inside. You can't feel anything real. I could never be your girl.
[she eventually stops beating him]
Spike: You always hurt the one you love, pet.

I love this scene, first cause I'm a masochist obviously :P But also cause Sarah and James were amazing in it. This whole season we've seen that for better or for worse Spike is the only one who truly understands Buffy.

Lessons

This is the first time they see each other after Seeing red and yet the first thing she does is worrying about him. The AR was bad for our couple; but I got over it. Spike was soulless when it happened and I try to remember what Angel did when he was soulless; kinda helps forgiving Spike ;)

Beneath you

Buffy: This is all you get. I'm listening. Tell me what happened.
Spike: I tried to find it of course.
Buffy: Find what?
Spike: The spark. The missing - the piece, that fit. That made me fit because you didn't want- I can't. Not with you looking. I dreamed of killing you. I think they were dreams. So weak. Did you make me weak? Thinking of you? Hauling myself, and spilling useless buckets of salt over your- ending. Angel, he should've warned me. Makes a good show of forgetting, but, it's here. In me. All the time. The spark. I wanted to give you what you deserve. And I got it. They put the spark in me and now all it does is burn.
Buffy: Your soul.
Spike: Bit worse for lack of use.

Buffy: You got your soul back. How?
Spike: It's what you wanted, right? It's-It's what *you* wanted, right? And-and now everybody's in here, talking. Everything I did, everyone I- and him. And it. The other... the thing... beneath... beneath you. It's here, too. Everybody... they all just tell me go. Go... to hell.
Buffy: Why? Why would you do that?
Spike: Buffy, shame on you. Why does a man do what he mustn't? For her. To be hers. To be the kind of man who would nev- To be a kind of man. And she shall look on him with forgiveness... and everybody will forgive and love. And he will be loved. So everything's okay, right? C-can we rest now? Buffy? Can we rest?

A gorgeous scene; and again so beautifully acted *sigh*

Very random but this is a pretty shot

Guh the way she looks at him *dies*

Potentials

Molly: Where'd you live?
Spike: What, you mean before? A crypt, actually, but nicer. A bit more - I don't know if posh is the right word, but it was more like...
Buffy: Comfy.
Kennedy: Excuse me? When did you find it comfy?

A funny exchange lol. They also have some sweet scenes in that episode

The killer in me

Buffy: There's gotta be a reason why the chip is going all wonky. Maybe it's related to the trigger. Or maybe it has something to do with the new soul.
Spike: Or maybe I wasn't meant to last this long.
[pause]
Spike: One more thing you and I have in common, eh, pet?
Buffy: Well, we'll fix it. We'll hit serious research mode.
Spike: [interrupting] Good. Try behavior modification software throughout the ages.
Buffy: [sighs] Okay, you're right. Not a book thing.
[pauses, comes to a realization]
Buffy: It's a phone thing.
Spike: Who ya gonna call?
[awkard look from Buffy]
Spike: God, that phrase is never gonna be usable again, is it?
Buffy: Doubt it.

Buffy taking care of Spike? Me is happy... I don't need much ;) It's also an interesting storyline and it shows how much their relationship changed, she trusts him at this point

First date

Spike: Heard you got a date.
Buffy: Well, it's unclear. I mean, I have this whole theory about a promotion. Or he's evil.
Spike: Buffy, I'm alright.
Buffy: You don't have to...
Spike: What? Be noble? I'm not. Really, I'm all right. Think I still dream of a crypt for two with a white picket fence? My eyes are clear.
Buffy: Good. I'm glad. Thank you.
Spike: Never much cared for picket fences, anyway. Bloody dangerous.

Adorable

SPIKE: I should move out. Leave town before it is time for me.
BUFFY: No, you have to stay.
SPIKE: You've got another demon fighter now.
BUFFY: That's not why I need you here.
SPIKE: Is that right? Why's that then?
BUFFY: 'Cuz I'm not ready for you to not be here.

I LOVE Buffy's last line

Storyteller

Andrew: Buffy and Spike have some kind of history: you can feel the heat between them. Although, technically, as a vampire, he's room temperature.

So this the way Andrew sees them; yep they're so platonic :P

Touched

Spike: No?
Buffy Summers: No.
Spike: You mean no as in "eventually"?
Buffy Summers: You really have problems with that word, don't you?
Spike: You can get them back!
Buffy Summers: Can? Maybe. Should? I'm just so tired.
Spike: They need you!
Buffy Summers: Well, I...
Spike: It's bloody chaos over there without you!
Buffy Summers: It is?
Spike: Yeah! Yeah. It's uh - there's junk. You know, food cartons. Sleeping bags not rolled up. Everyone's very scared and, uh, unkempt.
Buffy Summers: Sounds dire.
Spike: I didn't see a lot. I came, hit Faith a bunch of times, and left.
Buffy Summers: Really? I mean, not that I'm glad, but...
Spike: You say the word and she's a footnote in history. I'll make it look like a painful accident.
Buffy Summers: That's my problem. I say the word, some girl dies. Every time.

I love that exchange; they banter but at the end she says something terribly sad

Spike: [sighs] There's always casualties in war.
Buffy Summers: Casualties in - It just sounds so... casual. These are... girls, that I got killed. I cut myself off from them. All of them. I knew I was gonna lose some of them, and... I didn't -
[sigh]
Buffy Summers: You know what? I'm still making excuses. I've always cut myself off. I've always -
[sigh]
Buffy Summers: Being the Slayer made me different. But, it's my fault I stayed that way. People are always trying to connect to me. And I just slip away.
[scoffs]
Buffy Summers: You should know.
Spike: I seem to recall a certain amount of connecting.
Buffy Summers: Oh, please. We were never close. You just wanted me because I was... unattainable.
Spike: You think that's all that was?
Buffy Summers: Please, let's not go over the past.
Spike: Oh, no, no! Oh, let's hold on here! I've hummed along to your pity ditty and I think I should have the mic for a bit.
Buffy Summers: Fine. The stage is yours. Cheer me up.
Spike: You're insufferable.
Buffy Summers: Thank you. That really helped.
Spike: I'm not tryin' to cheer you up.
Buffy Summers: What are you trying to say?
Spike: I don't know! I'll know when I'm done sayin' it. Something pissed me off, and I just - "Unattainable," that's it.
Buffy Summers: Fine. I'm attainable. I'm a - I'm an "attain-a-thon." May I please just go to sleep?
Spike: You listen to me. I've been alive a bit longer than you. And dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine. And done things I prefer you didn't. Don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood, which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred-plus years. And there's only one thing I've ever been sure of. You. Hey, look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not because I want you. Or because I can't have you. It has nothin' to do with me. I love what you *are*. What you do. How you try. I've seen your kindness, and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand, with perfect clarity, exactly what you are. You're a *hell* of a woman. You're the One, Buffy.
Buffy Summers: I don't wanna be the One.
Spike: I don't wanna be this good-looking and athletic. We all have crosses to bear.

The reason b&s are my OTP of the show; I absolutly love Spike's speach, it's sweet but not mushy and it's exactly what she needed to hear

Cute

End of days

Spike: Were you there with me?
Buffy: I was.
Spike: What does that mean?
Buffy: I don't know. Does it have to mean something?
Spike: No. Not right now.

Buffy: You're a dope.
Spike: I'm a what?
Buffy: You're a dope, a-and a bonehead, and you're shirty.
Spike: Have you gone completely Carrot-top?
Buffy: Do you see this? This may actually help me fight my war. This might be the key to everything and the reason I'm holding it is because of you. Because of the strength that you gave me last night. I am tired of defensiveness and-and weird mixed signals - You know what? I have Faith for that. Let's just get to the truth, here, okay? I don't know how you felt about last night, but I will not...
Spike: Terrified.

Spike: Last night was... God, I'm such a jerk. I can't do this.
Buffy: Spike?
Spike: It was the best night of my life. If you poke fun at me, you bloody well better use that 'cause I couldn't bear it. It may not mean that much to you, but...
Buffy: I just told you it did.
Spike: Yeah, I hear you say it, but... I've lived for sodding ever, Buffy. I've done everything. I've done things with you I can't spell, but I've never been close to anyone, least of all you, until last night. All I did was hold you, watch you sleep, and it was the best night of my life. So, yeah, I'm terrified.

That's one of the cutest declaration of love I've ever seen. It's adorable, they're both awkward and they're not sure how to define what happened yet (should I mention that they just slept in the same bed?); but they both realise that it's important.

Chosen

Spike: I'm drownin' in footwear!
[wakes up]
Spike: Weird dream.

Buffy: I just realized something, something that really never occurred to me before. We're gonna win.

She spent what might be her last night on earth with him; that's just sweet

Buffy: I love you.
Spike: No, you don't. But thanks for sayin' it.

It should make me sad but it doesn't; Spike only said that cause he's too proud. As Joss said, Buffy meant what she said during that moment

Spike: I can feel it, Buffy.
Buffy: What?
Spike: My soul. It's really there. Kind of stings.
Spike: [to Buffy] Gotta move, lamb. Think it's fair to say, school's out for bloody summer.

Giles: I don't understand. What did this?
[Buffy's final line]
Buffy: Spike.

How awesome is that Buffy's last line is Spike? :P
I hope you liked it :) Please don't use the caps for anything else since I spent literally hours on those.

:challenge02, yo
