Challenge #7

CharactersThis challenge will focus on your favorite character. Whether your reasons are superficial or substantial is up to you. So if you want to picspam a movie or tv show, focus on one character. For the most part we should only see that character. Obviously, you can organize your picspam any way you want. Like, if you do a tv character, you ( Read more... )

Can this be a character that's not really "one" character? For example, if I choose Merlin, can I do him in the tv series, movies, and as a person in literature and mythology? Thank you!

maybe you could just use the generic tags on picspams that are of one individual thing. like, this would be tagged "film," and this would be tagged "music," but this and all of these would not.

Yeah. I think what we'll probably do is leave them and make them optional because we don't have time lately to go through and decide what category some things fall under. Especially when it requires googling. I still don't think the generic tags are very effective when we're behind on tagging and the poster doesn't tag themselves. :/

Hi, I did a picspam for Lois Lane (from Smallville) a very long time ago. This might be a stupid question, :P Most of the pictures are Lois-centric but have other characters from the show in the scene/screencap/picture, is that ok, or does it need to be strictly just the character?

As long as the primary focus is on one character, it's no big if there is another person in a handful of caps.

I dunno, I used the tags last challenge(s). There were just soooooo many posts it was difficult to find something posted at the beginning of the month with just the challenge tags. It helped to be able to filter out all the actress posts with the "actor" tag and things like that.

we have too little time to add the specific tags

It's a big community; why not ask for a volunteer (or two) to be chief tagger(s)?

Because it would be stupid to have someone's sole task to add "tv" or "film" or whatever to posts. We can't use the specific tags anymore because there are too many. They became harder to navigate, less streamlined. Sometimes it's hard to decide what category something should fall under. There are so many problems with the specific tagging - only a few of which I mentioned. There is no way we'll use specific tags again.

Because track_three and I are sisters and live together it's really easy for us to discuss modly business. Adding another person would make it more difficult to do that.
