Intro to Terriers
This is Terriers.
It's the story of a bromance
between Hank Dolworth,
a snarky, down-on-his-luck, recovering alcoholic, and Britt Pollack,
a former criminal trying to go straight. Hank and Britt are the scrappy partners of an unlicensed private detective business in Ocean Beach, California.
Other characters include Katie,
Britt's girlfriend who wants to settle down, and Hank's former police partner, Hank's ex-wife for whom he still pines, and Britt and Hank's wise-cracking lawyer.
The best way I can describe Terriers is that it's Veronica Mars for grown-ups. There's an overarching season- (or in this case, series-) long mystery, and some shorter episodic cases. There are a lot of flawed, but lovable characters. There's much snarking and tons of great lines. And there are many storylines that will surprise you.
Terriers was a critical darling, but never found a very big audience, partly because of mishandled marketing by FX. Give Terriers a chance, and you just might find yourself in loving relationship with it!
