It's Been a While
Wowie, it's been a while since I've been on LJ, eh?
At first, it was because I was in Shanghai and the glorious firewall had made it near impossible to navigate LJ. But then, I got hooked onto Tumblr because it was still, thankfully, not on Yao's hate list and I could waste many hours away freely. Plus, it is infinitely easier to navigate and post things on Tumblr.
Apparently the Hetalia fandom has migrated to Tumblr too? IDK if it's true but... That's a bit of a shame since the LJ comm used to be the heart of the English speaking fandom, but hey, better it be a case of migration than a case of fans leaving the fandom entirely. The fandom had always been the best part of Hetalia, in my opinion, and I'd hate to see this fandom die out.
My love for Hetalia has changed but is undiminished with time, thankfully. The love is much more subdued yet more deeply ingrained. I haven't written any fanfic in forever and constantly fear that I may never again. I don't follow official news anymore and my interest in the anime is all but gone. It's a damn shame but on the other hand, I still doodle Hetalia characters in the margin of my notes during history classes, and I know these characters are and always will be with me, especially FrUK which has truly become my OTP and is the ship I would gladly go down with.
Speaking of history classes, I've decided to change my major from Sociology to History. Sometimes I wonder if I chose this path because of Hetalia, or if I loved Hetalia because I always had an innate love and passion for history.
Either way, what's done is done. I'm now a second year History major and I wouldn't have it any other way.
