Things are a bit up-in-the-air

As an armchair politician, I've never really felt the need to be scared of being a dissident blogger. But we're getting to a point where opinions aren't respected anymore. And only God knows where we will be if a new supreme court justice were assigned. Our president was only so happy to know that he - for now - will continue to get his way.

Justice Ginsberg, for all she has done, was an invaluable voice. A voice of the people. Not someone to; insert her faith, her bias, or her personal dislikes. She was a force for change, may she now be at rest. I always viewed the supreme court as something that should be evenly balanced. As I have viewed two party system in this country. A lot of compromises could have been made.

Now, everyone is different. Some Republicans are fiscal conservatives, some are trumpers. Some Democrats are liberlas, some are progressives. Each party has its spectrum of traditionalists and change-makers. Now if our two party system was evenly divided, we would have a range of opinions even within our own party that we side with or party that speaks to our needs at a time.

I bet you could imagine how cool that'd be. Because it should never be one party to dominate for a few years and then the other follow suit. One party getting all the power for a while leads to what we've seen since Obama's last term. The Republicans were able to gain control of the House and Congress. And they stuck it to him and the democrats at every corner.

And I'm sure that the Democrats could easily fall into that as well. Power can go to people's heads. We are all human. We cannot deny that our union is made up of people who pick two sides. Yet they are not always in agreement with themselves. But if they have the numbers on their side and that side can promise them something, they will begrudgingly side.

In America we have our sacred cows. The rules of how our country operates - which are mostly accepted as perfect. But I don't believe anything perfect exists, aside from God, Almighty. This is not to mention the 2nd amendment, separation of church and state, equal rights, and many others.

Excuse the rant, but modern problems require modern solutions that benefit as many people as possible. Now you can't please some people, therefore, you never will please all of the people. One cannot always have their cake and eat it too.
