I wrote the first draft of a poem about a cat. Well, that was the prompt I picked out.... :) Its 24 (short) lines and will need much work, but it's a poem, folks! (Only a few years ago I would never have written poetry, I was s sure i couldn't, but since I had to for my course... I have another go every so often).
And I did the compulsory-for-all-students 'academic integrity' quiz on my new university's website and it worked, so I think I will be fine. Classes actually start in two weeks.
The quiz wasn't hard, basically the multiple choice questions are common sense (though a couple of sessions ago I had a fellow student - her first session - on zoom who was wailing that she's done it fourteen times and still not gotten the requisite 16 out of 20 right... I have no idea how she managed that.
It is... mine tends to be free verse with short lines and a lot of carefully positioned white space. I suspect that is my brain partly trying to make it look good {eg} but I didn't tell my tutor that.
The haikus I wrote took just as long as, well, longer poems...

Try carving your thoughts
Down to bare, sharp-edged wisdom;
The effort is great.
