So! Long and meandering internet journeys led me to a fantastic resource on Agents and publishing, and so I thought I'd share.

Using a Method, I was able to find and watch this vidya by SwankIvy, and it gives a whole bunch of excellent places and ways to search out agents and venues for publishing.

Behind this cut,

 somewhat limited
 only member agents
 (if “abide by despite not member)
 Never charge
 Out to make money selling rts to publ. for authors
 Will miss some good if only look here

 By email - alpha, genre. Always submiss. guidelines

Preditors and editors
 pred-ed.com
 old-school
 ID scammers (n why)
 Not best, b/c not usually listed - good for if praise
 Trust if AAR, rec’d, or $ next to name

Agentquery.com
 sophist. search - keyword
 feeling who accept queries who not
 websites of auth
