For more than two weeks, I hear nothing from the translation company. Now, today, I recieve seven documents, all between 13-20 pages, all really, really badly translated and requiring not just editing but severe rewriting.

When do they want them by?

FEBRUARY 1!!!!! :D

I've already sent them the letter: I can't finish all these by the 1st, I have meetings for graduate school and other business; I will send them one by one as I finish them.

Because it's true. I've got a family dinner tonight, a friend-meeting tomorrow and two meetings for grad stuff, and the day after, ice skating and another friend-meeting, as well as having to make a presentation of info on working at HIT and studying at BLCU at my old school. I don't have the five hours a day to put to this last-minute stuff.

Because Jesus H Christ, this is one of the things that frustrates me about China: the idea that "we don't need to do our paperwork now! there's still two weeks left in the month!" and then everybody trying to rush to get everything done just before the deadline. Which lands The One Western Editor with 70 pages of rewriting architectural project papers in three days? Come on.

also: dead, oh china, not cool, !flails, ugh what is this, pico frustration, pico the sideshow, china argh
