OH MY GOD THAT WAS THE LONGEST WEEK EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR (flops)

billions of teaching. Billions of teaching! I am not even kidding about this, and am only exaggerating a little. My class sizes: 30, 26, 22, 30, 35, 35, and that's not counting the students who were absent in each class (4, 2, 4, 9, and 1 respectively) and the evening sessions. Yes indeedy, the 7-8.45 evening sessions, with 31, 80, and 60 students respectively.

So ... hundreds. WHICH IS BILLIONS.

And my schedule! oh my sainted aunt my schedule. Here, let me break it down for you:

MOONDAY

Morning: plan for Speaking classes. this is easy but still somehow takes all morning.
Afternoon: hold speaking class.
Evening: noodle dinner with D&M, hold the evening class, come back, do last bits of editing for recording, give up halfway through the 45-page document because yeah.

TOOSDAY

Morning: go to a translation service, then a professional recording studio, and record 4 hours and 40 minutes of a tour company's English Audio Tour Guide, aka "Electronic Tour Comment On The Scenic Spot" and yyyyyeaaaahh. Did fine, enjoyed, got 600 kuai.
Afternoon: quick lunch, realize Oh It Is Time For Class. teach class.
Evening: eat dinner. Teach evening class of 80 people. get back like 9. talk until 2am with historicula.

WOONSDAY

Morning: plan for classes. was petitioned ealier to help a student's best friend with a personal statement. told him I'd only help if he came in person. set time as 11. no-show.
Afternoon: start planning thursday class. lunch. teach a class.
Evening: din, hold last evening class.

THOORSDAY

Morning: wake at 5.30. 8.30 talk with parents. plan for classes, get all D:! because it's Model UN and who the hell knows anything about the Security Council anyway?
Afternoon: finally figure out how to teach MUN. Bang together a PPT, go to print things. printing takes fifteen minutes longer than expected. get to MUN class 15 minutes late. Oh well. class goes swimmingly.
Evening: zoom off after class to the Admin building, where we're meeting for a Foreign Teachers' Dinner. Meet up with some I know, talk with some nice people and end up squished next to Patticakes. Oh well. Dinner I sit between Russkis and an Aussie. Dinner is yummy. Teachers get big bags of mooncakes. Crowd goes to bar after and we end up talking politics. I express disdain for conspiracy theories; conspiracy theorist seems surprised. Right as I get back, just before shower, fuwuyuan gives me Mooncakes left by international office. BEDTIME but still can't sleep til late.

FROOYDAY

Morning: WHY AM I AWAKE AT 5.30 AGAIN. plan for classes, get all D:!!!!!!! because it's Debating and who the hell knows anything about British Parliamentary Style anyway?
Afternoon: figure out class at last minute. hold two classes, back-to-back.
Evening: finis class at 5.30, eat some luobu which I don't know how to write, and head on over to the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Thang at the students' center. It is more of a variety show than anything else; some of my students invite me to sit with. Is nice; finish around 9, go back, make green-pepper-eggs for dinners and watch 6 episodes of Evangelion. Go to bed at 2. Can't fall asleep. Cannot fall asleep.

TODAY

Wake at 5.30. Say fuggit and roll over and resleep. Wake at 8. loll in bed til 9. edit the Electronic Tour COmment On The Scenic Spot and send it back to the translation organization. chill on internet. write flaily LJ entry. eat a peach and a green-bean-and-rose-flavored mooncake. Plan to spend the rest of day completely relaxed. Life is good.

SO THAT IS MY WEEK.

My room is deteriorating into a Den Of Inequity Or Something Like That.

OH WELL TOMORROW IS FOR CLEANING :D

Now, off to trawl the internet, go read Jane Eyre, have some nice Chinese soup, and maybe watch some more Evangelion. PEACE OUT
