Fangirl squeeing aside, it really is a fantastic movie, triumphant and poignant and Earn The Fuck Out Of Your Happy Endingly. It's Mao-ist China, and everything that implies. People around us in the theater were laughing and crying aloud, and everyone applauded at one scene. Applauded. A movie screen.
Guys, I cried.
It was that good. I highly, highly recommend you watch this film. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was amazing, and powerful, and just - wow.
