Been thinking of creating a Writing Journal. Nah, not for Olinscarr stuff - that's all upped to olinscarr, and sometimes to here, too, although, y'know, yeah.

But I need a place for popping ideas - Arc, among otehr things, and the new idea I have for somethign that will either be called The Coward's Tale or Slowsilver - and the Tags function only works ( Read more... )

Makes my head spin. Not that English makes any more sense, but I'm good at English.

With the comm thing - you could set it so all entries are friends only by default, and so that only your home journal and post, with moderated membership (friends-of-the-comm) so you can decide who can and can't see what gets posted. There's less logging in and out, and you have access to twice as many icons (those for your journaljournal and those for olinscarr). And you can have your olinscarr text archived there as well

The cons are basically that to use icons specific to a project, you'd need to set up another journal to post in the comm, which would defeat the purpose of having a comm in the first place. (However, you could set up a sponsored+ journal to post to the comm and get 15 icons and no ads showing in the comm*)

*I think.

Nope, S2 doesn't require a sponsored account - you just have more customization options with one. (options that you pretty much get free with S1.) But then, the tags system works better, and memories is both a hassle and non-working a lot of the time.

See that's the thing! I can do English, too - English I kind of couldn't do without. But Hungarian's just so out-of-left-field, it's great.

Hmm. I must needs give this some thought. Definitely I like the idea of 15 icons, but well. Ads. Ugh.

A haha, see this is where I am stupid and think one thing while typing the other. "Paid account" 's what I meant. Which I kind of also don't have. ( alsoplus I barely use the memories feature anyhow.)

The thing about paid is that once you've started with it ... it gets addictive. Especially with the icon upgrades - which is irritating when it runs out and has to be renewed because, well, it does.

I never really learned the S1 coding, and never really got good at the S1 custom coding, and grew to love the S2 form-based customization.

ANYWAY. With flexible squares, there's some fairly heavy customizations that can be made just with css, which is allowed to free users. wooed has one up somewhere. (I'll check the Sponsored + thing with one of my journals/comms and see if it works.)

Hee, I can see. That's part of why - I'd have the 100 icons and be liek "...that's it?" and then and yeah.

I don't know anything about coding. All's that I found a helpful page that says "type this in the overrides box" and then I did, and everything was peachy. Past that - well. Layouts take me a long time to do, and yeah.

THat's the second paragraph I ended with "and yeah." Hahaoops.

Okay! (I must admit, I understood justabout 0 of that first sentence, sorry.)

XP You get used to the paid features and miss them when they're gone, effectively.
