Throwing Away Kristin's Race Pamphlets

Another day of the typical Rhode Island weather, drizzling or raining on and off with icky, grey skies. Sometimes going on for days at a time.

Just because of some miserable weather cross country wasn't canceled, except in thunder and lightning. It's like being on the football team minus the heavy padding and the rank stench of guys. We sometimes give the ocassional butt slap and never have days off. Sometimes Amy's feeling nice and will gives us one afternoon if it's torrencial rain. Today's practice was my worst but fun in many ways. When I first got there, I got beeped at by Kristin who brought us a phamplet explaining a race we would probably have to run in Boston. While she was tieing her running shoes, I knicked the phamplet, ran off, and threatened it to be tossed into the trash can. She tackled me for the precious peice of our torture paper. After that Danielle and I noticed that the football player's were practicing at the same time as us and looked at the parking lot full of their cars. Danielle pointed out Addison's car and we decided to play a lovely prank by covering it in grass, flowers, trash, and a stick. The stick was on the back.

The run was three miles on the course at any pace. It didn't seem too intimidating until the actual running. None of us wanting to run in front of the football players and nearly got hit by them sprinting back and forth. Halfway during the 2nd mile, Liz and I weren't doing too well. A huge cramp hit Liz. From the backs of my heels up to my knees, there was pain plus they were tight. Walking came, then running, then walking, then my legs weren't listening to me at all and decided to ignore me. Amy caught me and told me to stretch against the wall. I got lectured about how I was experienced and shouldn't stop even though Liz did need a running buddy. She was both impressed with my team spirit (yay) and wondering why I was struggling so much after I had been doing really good for the other practices until today. Kristin, who was already done with the three miles, had to accompany me on the small loop part of the course to help my tightened legs. Apparently the fact I hadn't run for 2 days because of the weather screwed up my Achille's tendon in the back. I have to do a series of stretches now because Amy wants me to be in the top five for the runners on our team. Eh...

Danielle and I wandered around the school for a few moments and saw the Homeroom postings were already up. She was instantly happy when she saw she was in the Senior Hallway since there was a lot of panic that the Senior Hallway would be taken away. After that, we looked at the listings for Junior Homerooms. My name was somewhere jammed in between an "F" name and Kuczer. Meaning that Jen, Tatiana, Stephanie, Sarah, and I would be in the same homeroom this year along with Andrew and John. Yay. :D! We're in room 222 with Mr. Hardiman which is really good, except for the fact if we got caught doing our homework in his homeroom, he would possibley be mad at us then take it and rip it up.

When practice was officially over, I talked to Heidi and Kayla for about a half hour with Jon chiming in every couple of minutes. Then headed home, to my nice warm house. Which instead of having the bee problem in my room where they would just come into my room in groups to die, there's been a random invasion of flies that just come in to die. This is possibley another one of the downsides to living in a log cabin in the middle of the woods. My mother keeps our house insanely clean so it's not a cleanliness problem, it's just nature mixing in with our lives.

The rain = colddddddd. But nice smell and pretty sounds to fall asleep to.

Addison wasn't mad about what we had done to his car, he said it looked pretty.

Tomorrow's the last day of freedom. What am I going to do? Hopefully get a haircut.

I miss my brother in a weird way.
