HE PROPOSED! I SAID YES!! *twirls*
It happened on Saturday December 13th. We were out with his family on a typical outing, so it was myself, him, his parents, and his two brothers. We were in downtown Seattle, and we had gone to get coffee from Stella Café, which is near the Seattle Art Museum. We then walked over to Harbor Steps, which is this huge step structure leading to the water. So we walked down the steps, and we got about halfway where these little fountains were coming through the steps. He had mentioned it before, saying we should get our engagement pictures there (big clue much?), and when we got there, he asked his dad to take a picture...
CLICK FOR BIGGER!!
This is the first picture we took. Can you see the huge bulge on his right (your left) pocket? Yeah, that's the ring box.
Then, after we took that picture, he asked his dad to take another one, and then he started fiddling around in his pocket. It should have made me suspicious, but it didn't, and I don't know why. Then, all of a sudden, a ring box was out, he opened it, and was on his knee, asking me, "Will you marry me?"
So then it was just madness of everyone crying, hugging, laughing, screaming, all kinds of whatnot going on, and people were staring. I didn't care. I just got engaged for goodness sake!!
So then we got our act together, and moved on to the new Four Seasons Hotel where we had champagne and just tried to get the tears out of our eyes. We laughed, talked, and had some fun. When the waitstaff figured out that we'd just gotten engaged, they brought us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. :)
Anyway, it's been a whirlwind since then. I've been extremely busy, and even though I thought about posting it immediately, I've had work, a snowstorm to deal with, friends visiting, all this stuff that prevented me from posting.
Now the planning starts! If you want to check out what I'm doing for the wedding, go ahead and friend
igotaring, and you'll be able to keep up with that stuff there.
In the meantime, I've become obsessed with my Nintendo DS Lite, and some of the games I got for my birthday (which was a blast, by the way), and we've just been swamped with Christmas stuff - shopping and everything that goes with it. I hope I get some rest this weekend! Not likely... LOL
Anyway. I hope all of you have wonderful holidays, Christmases, or whatever you end up doing this next couple of weeks. I have a feeling I'll be even more MIA, but after the new year, I'll hopefully be back to posting more regularly. At least I'll try to keep up with your journals.
Okay, I have to get to work to hopefully make up for some of the hours I lost because of the snow. I love all of you! Be safe!
