Freshers flu part 2

It was only a matter of time but I caught another cold over the weekend (I thought it was just dust at first since I was grabbing a few more books off dusty shelves). I took my first day off of the term on Tuesday and spent four hours asleep, got only a few of the more pleasurable jobs done and then had (almost) a full nights sleep. Wednesday, for the second time in a week, I forgot to take insulin with my breakfast and only doing my pre-drive to work blood sugar check. Two hours it took for them to come down. Ironically, and the reason I went to work, the high blood sugars kept my sinuses at bay. After much deliberation I took yesterday off sick. Actually I knew from the start that I had to - if I'm wondering if I should then the answer is I should - but my brain took too long to process that information.

I think by the evening the worst of the cold had passed, but there was heat on my lungs. Having been taking lots of no.20 (it seemed to work) I shifted to nos 14 (anti-heat) and 23 (rehydration) to deal with that the heat. Eventually, I cleared the thick-but-clear sputum and got 8 hours sleep. I think there's still heat though so I'll have another go.

I'm not looking forward to my hospital appointment on Tuesday though. Yes, my lungs are clear of sputum. But this is the end of the main slog, my reserves are low (hence my problems with the cold; it was better than September's but I had less energy), I haven't been doing tai chi or exercise and my lungs will still be tight after the horrible coughing of the last couple of days.

The only good thing after all this is that, exercise aside, I still think I'm better than I normally am at this time. It's just a question of if this is reflected in my lung function.
