Bug season

After sleep most of the weekend, I took two days off work last week, then went back to work.  Two nights of nine hours sleep and I hoped I was just recovering still.  A night with no sleep at all didn't help anything (I was literally falling asleep at my desk;  lucky work was quiet!).  Then I dropped off at 7pm and didn't wake until midday Saturday.  That's 15 hours sleep, followed by two more in the afternoon.  I think that's more than a missing nights sleep, and I slept more on Sunday afternoon.  So I too three more days off and even now I'm not convinced that the bug has completely gone (and I DID return to a workplace full of coughs and sniffles).

It's not great, but plenty of people are taking time off for seasonal colds etc.  Moreover, my diabetes is excellent and I'm leaning towards Hypos rather than Hypers.  My lungs do have phlegm but I suspected, and it was confirmed at acupuncture today, that it's cold phlegm.  So I have a new formula coming, 24, which is similar to 21 (the spleen tonic/phlegm clearer) but swaps out some middle-burner herbs for lung tonics and a slightly warming cinnamen aspect.  It's something we discussed before and with this year's cold I pushed to try something.  We'll see if it works.

I'm still unfit and I hate the amount of time I took off work, but it's good to know that even with the shadow over me my health seems to be returning to resilience.  One step back, two steps forward.
