hmm...

haven't updated for ages and feel i should probably start to do so again.

v v v v v busy already... lots of work etc.
had the ambitious idea of writing notes on my lectures, but im now behind 3 lectures in 2 of my subjects, and haven't done any of the other one, so not quite sure how thats gonna work. it would be ok, but it takes me many many hours to go over 1 lecture, so obviously don't have the time.

managed to do an essay yesterday, but really struggling with my path essay today. just can't get motivated to do it, and i dunno what it is, but i find path really hard to link together. not enjoying it as much as i'd hoped. lectures are really dull and practicals are really medic orientated. *sigh*. bit late to change now. i mean, its interesting material, but i just don't feel enthused about it. i guess i thought it was going to be really good, and im just disappointed in it. maybe if i took time to study it it would be better. but i don't have time!

excitingly i'm now boat club secretary. yay! i think it was a really good compromise, and i'm glad God let that opportunity open up. =) i wanted to be JCR secretary, but wouldn't have the time. boat club needs less commitment, and as a hard core boatie i spend so much time doing it anyway, it's just a natural progression. also, it'll give me practice at being secretary-y, so if i ever get a sudden craving for the jcr i can always stand in 3rd year, though might be a lot older than everyone else!

some other developments this year - rowing in the 1st boat, which is quite intensive. (well compared to before anyway). 3 morning outings (6.30 am at boat house) a week, an erg session (evil), and circuit training (also evil). lots of formal swaps appear to be lined up, so that's cool. not so sure about the races. very worred about fairbairns, which is the biggie. 5k! all the way from jesus boat house to the lock. eeeek! (for those of you that don't row, i'll give you an indication - when novices (i.e. people who are learning to row) do their first erg, they will do a 500m, and find it really tough! so its 10 times the length... crazy! and its in december so i bet its gonna be foul weather. :( actually only just - the 1st! which is the last day of full term. but i'm staying the extra week at the end since i've paid for it anyway.

also, i'm volunterring at oxfam (to do my d of e service). been good so far. everyone is very friendly and its lovely to get out of the student bubble and meet some normal grown ups. only 2 and a half hours a week so not too much time. aaahh... bugger! its raining... :( weather is pretty miserable at the mo. was spitting when i left this morning in the dark to go rowing, tho cleared up a bit so didnt get wet. very cold on the river.

anyway, i really need to write this path essay, so i'll try to update more at a later date.
