Yesterday I was pathetic and whiny but today I am positively chipper.
My first class of the semester was my chemistry discussion. First thing my TA asks us is if anyone knows how to open up the class roster. We just sat there and stared at him like the freshmen in our first class of the semester we are. Yep, no help from the peanut gallery. My TA's new to the U of Iowa.
My TA reminds me of my favorite little brother (who is not genetically or legally related to me) oddly enough. Except nicer and with a Kansas accent, which may or may not explain the y'all, snifigant figures, and nitro-gene. I had difficulty not giggling. (Especially when he was talking about 'bent' molecules. I will never grow up.) Tuesday mornings should be interesting.
My next class was Spanish which is in Iowa City's Old Capitol Mall. This is going to be difficult because it only takes me a minute and a half to get to my class from the T-Spoons cafe. I happen to be forcing myself off chai and guess what class I have every single day? Must resist. This class is nice because there are two people from my last Spanish class and one person from my dorm I re-met tonight when I explained how the Spanish homework worked. Apparently she had put off her last semester of Spanish for second semester. I actually told her the wrong thing for one part, but hopefully if she actually reads it, she will see my mistake. In my defense, the question she asked me has nothing to do with the homework--she mistranslated and did not finish the statement.
Another part of the Spanish homework was about meat, which is funny because I don't eat much of it and naming the cuts and having Hilz explain what tenderloin is makes me want to eat it even less. Blah! I don't understand how people can be grossed out by tofu and not tenderloin, pork chops, or hot dogs. At least with tofu you know it came from a plant and there is nothing disgusting/inhuman/brain injuring about tofu. But each to their own, eh?
So normally I would have Bio lab in the afternoon, but not this week. So my day was finished. Besides homework, getting ready for other classes, and my workout.
I totally ruined my workout by eating bad food today. But blueberry scones, Olive Garden breadsticks, and dark chocolate with crystallized ginger is so worth it.
All and all, it was a pretty good day.
